Jake accommodated us last minute as our hotel room fell through. Jake had us into our place within 15 minutes. Life saver and awesome place. Decorations were a delight and sunset view was beautiful.

The location and neighborhood are good - it's a nice quiet nook on a dead end street with easy access to restaurants. The apartment itself is in very obvious need of updating and maintenance.

This place is incredible value for money! It's in a quiet residential area, but still very close to the city center. Jake is also a great host, I was provided all the information well in advance of arriving in Pittsburgh, so the whole experience was smooth and stress-free!

When I arrived I expected to have somewhere to park as stated in the listing. When I arrived I was informed after reaching out to the host that I needed to email someone regarding getting a parking permit which I did immediately. My car was towed within a hour of my stay and I also was fined due to not being notified whether or not my permit was in place. After tracking down my car ( only being able to due to the tracking I have on my car), my entire stay was a pain because I still was not notified my entire stay about the status of the permit, leading me to have to park at 20 min away at a family members house and take Lyfts back and forth. The only good thing I can say is that the apartment is nice and the bed is EXTREMELY comfortable.

Jake was an absolute gem with responding and local tips. Place is really cool area. Nice shops and good food.

Jake’s place was extremely clean and looked just like its pictures. The parking was a night mare (which was clearly written in the description of the place) so obviously not the hosts fault. I wish the hallway to the front door was a little more well lit, it’s hard to see the door keypad. Very walkable to restaurants and quiet neighborhood. We will definitely be back for a visit!

Jake’s was just what we needed-a place to sleep and meet up with family. I’m very familiar with the area and his place is within walking distance of many restaurants and pubs. Great communication before and during our stay. Would stay again on another trip to Pittsburgh.

Very convenient location based on it only being 13 minutes away from my job. Very clean space shower feels amazing. There is a park & a pool in walking distance so the kids will love that. I can’t say anything bad about the place except the parking.The street is like parking wars fighting for a parking spot but that’s not Jake’s fault. I would stay here again in the future if need be.

I had an excellent stay. The place looked exactly like the pictures and felt like home. The neighborhood is great and there's a lot to do in the area! Very walkable, tons of restaurants, bars, exercise studios and even bookstores. 20 minute walk from Lawrenceville, 30 minute walk from Walnut street in Shadyside. Jake was super responsive. And pets are allowed, so I brought my cat! <3

The unit was on the first floor the door to the unit very narrow entry. The bed was very comfortable. However there were many disappointing features about the unit. Ants in unit, mouse trap on refrigerator. Odor in the unit no air freshener Stained on comforter, chairs Rug in bedroom dusty & hair on sheets The bathroom was extremely small (pictures of unit misleading) Finally, noise in the morning was excessive heavy walking overhead The overall experience was just ok probably will not return.

Jake place was great 😊 Jake communicated well on instructions he also answered me whenever I needed questions or anything on my stay The only thing that was hard to do was park on a street that was small and filled up with cars fast!

Jake's apartment in Bloomfield was a great place for us to enjoy Pittsburgh. Centrally located and walkable neighborhood and a great place to stay~ from the comfortable bed/bedroom, nice living room area, well appointed kitchen and clean bathroom with excellent shower and amenities. Would stay again when we're in town! Jake was a great host, responsive and easy to communicate with!

Place was pretty much as expected and pet friendly which was a big plus for us. Jake was extremely responsive and even let us know the place was ready if we wanted to check in early. Late night upstairs neighbors were the only down side and could just have been a bad weekend. But overall was perfect for what we needed. Would definitely rent one of Jake’s places again!

We stayed at Jake’s place at 460 Taylor Street for Pitts family weekend. The one bedroom apartment was easy to find, and check-in was simple. The neighborhood is quiet, and very safe. It is a easy uphill walk to Liberty Avenue. Plenty of restaurants and coffee shops. I had a very peaceful run exploring a beautiful old cemetery one morning. parking at the apartment was easy. It was a quick, seven minute drive to the University. Luckily, the residents in the other apartment in the building were very quiet, but the walls were thin and you could hear the other family in the morning. The apartment itself is very clean, not cluttered, and the king bed in the master bedroom is very comfortable. We didn’t do any cooking, but found the kitchen very well stocked, even with a crockpot!

Jake is a great host!

I think this is a great place to stay, and I gave it all 5 star reviews. Cleanliness, responsiveness and helpfulness of host, location were all ideal. We even lucked into a parking spot directly outside the door! If you're going to rent this space, you HAVE to understand that this is shared house with multiple renters. There will be noise from the other spaces. I just think people deserve to know this going in. The backyard was GORGEOUS, and I'd love to come back and stay in summer when I could take advantage of it a little more. The neighbor with the cameras pointed right into the backyard with a big sign that says "you're on camera, ask me why" is a little off-putting though. Owner should look into reasonable expectation of privacy laws and see if they really are allowed a camera pointing directly into his property like that.

Quiet neighborhood close to great shops, restaurants and more. Jake's place was true to the description and pictures. Perfect for my husband I who were moving our son to Pittsburgh for college. Everything you might need is there in the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom, including white noise machines in the bedroom, though we didn't need them. We heard people entering/exiting while in the bedroom, but all at manageable hours. There was festival going on the weekend we were there on Liberty so parking was a bit challenging at busy times, but once the festival was over, it was very easy and regardless of time, we never had to park too far away. Great location and accommodations for the price!

Very nice place. Has everything you need and is in a great location. You also can’t beat the price for this place. Back yards are also super hard to come by in Pittsburgh. Wish I’d had a pet to bring along! Sunset from the back deck is very pretty. You can hear other tenants in the building during the day but it was super quiet at night. I slept great!

Really cool place , really enjoyed the comfy pillows and the neighborhood. parking was a little tricky , but ended up working out perfectly. Will definitely be back if i’m ever in the area again.

We had a great stay in Pittsburgh. The location is fun. It is a quiet residential street with a short walk to lots of bars and restaurants. We didn't see a lot of neighbors, but those we met were friendly. We didn't feel unsafe walking home in the dark. Parking can be a bit tricky, but we always found a spot nearby, and it is free if you register your vehicle in advance. The apartment was clean and well laid out. I found the bed very comfortable (and my kids said the pull-out couch was, too) and the shower had great water pressure. We did hear the overhead neighbors a few times at night, but Jake provided some white noise machines in the bedroom that helped drown that out. Overall, we had a wonderful stay.

Great location, merely a couple blocks down from Liberty Ave. The host warned me of the limited and tight parking in front of the house but really was not big of a deal. The hallway to the unit is quite narrow but for the central location, this place is a great deal.

The place was clean and had necessary amenities. The 4pm check-in and 10am made it hard to feel relaxed for a one-night stay - probably a better option for multi-day visitors.

Our stay here was great with one caveat: there is an upstairs AirBnB apt, and depending upon the people, the noise can be distracting and disruptive. Our first night here the upstairs guests were up and down until 3 am, waking us up numerous times throughout the night. By 6 am I was ready to leave and find new accommodations —but I alerted the host (Jake) and he stepped up to the plate and provided us another nearby property to sleep in until the upstairs guests left the following day. I really appreciated his responsiveness and assistance. So we stayed put and our stay ended up being decent. This issue aside, the location was great, walkable to lots of places and it was everything we needed for our short stay in the Burgh.

Great stay!

We stayed the weekend with our dog at Jake’s apartment. Jake was a good communicator and check-in was very easy. There were some nice touches such as two TVs with Roku, a very comfortable bed and pillows. Good location. Unfortunately we encountered an issue with the plumbing in the unit- the shower was clogged upon arrival and the toilet stopped flushing the next day. Jake was very responsive in having his team come over to look at the issue and eventually got it fixed, however, we did have to change our plans because we did not want to leave our dog in the apartment with strangers coming and going to fix the issue (Jake offered us to leave our dog in a different unit of his while we went out, but we opted to bring our dog with us until issue was resolved a few hrs later. FYI the bedroom is located at the front of the unit with the head of the bed right near the front door, if the unit next door is occupied and you and/or your pet are sensitive to noise, just something to consider.

Overall a nice and clean place to live in.

got more than what I paid for - it's HARD to find affordable Airbnb's that allow pets and don't have a coocoo bananas cleaning fee. I did my due diligence and tidied up before leave to avoid a fee. Jake and Chris were super communicative and incredibly accommodating to all my silly questions and inquiries. THE BEDS AND PILLOWS ARE SO COMFORTABLE. The blankies were just right. the couch was comfy and the pillows and lounge blanket couch provided meaningful head/neck support and warmth. I had no idea couch pillows could be so functional? The shower/bath water gets warm/hot right away and the water pressure was CORRECT. honestly? Slay.

The apartment was perfect for my mid-road trip crash pad. The only issue I had was that the refrigerator wasn’t functioning properly, and I had to throw out much of my food in the morning.

My experience: I was in Pittsburgh to visit my father who is at UPMC Shadyside. It was right down the road, only a minute drive. So if you happen to be in town for medical reason's, this is a good location. In addition, there are plenty of restaurants/bars/coffee shops within walking distance. Jake is friendly, accommodating, and very quick in his responses. I highly recommend!

This spot is centrally located and close by to some of the most popular neighborhoods in Pittsburgh. There are several decent restaurants and pubs within walking distance. The place was great! We were able to check in easily. It was tucked away in the midst of the city to give the spot itself a very private feel while still being close to everything.

Great Stay!

Jake’s place was very clean and cute! Was working at West Penn when I was there and it’s walkable to the hospital. The street is off of liberty which has a ton of cute restaurants and shops. There’s some thrift stores, a bakery, a tea shop, some book stores and a bunch of cute small business. Also an east Uber to downtown! Jake was super responsive and helpful.There were issues with the water pipes because it was freezing out one weekend and it got fixed promptly and he was great with communicating promptly. Highly recommend this place!

A nice lil place tucked back out the way but yet easily accessible to the main drag with a nice choice of restaurants in the area! Place was very clean and nicely equipped! Would certainly stay again! Highly recommend!

Airbnb is asking for a few words to describe my stayp; I will do my best, but honestly, I could fill pages with phrases for Jake and his apartment. First and foremost, and the communication was helpful and concise, And was established well before my arrival to Pittsburgh. Informative messages were sent automatically and included thorough directions and some helpful hints regarding the space in the area. Also received a few messages written by the man himself, who, based on these interactions, seems to be a wonderful human being. The apartment itself was delightful. It was spacious, clean, who is equipped with comfortable furniture and modern amenities, and it’s located in a great area with a lot of Pittsburgh charm. The backyard has breathtaking views that will make you forget where you are, especially during these early fall days with the changing of the colors. It was affordable, provided free and easy parking, was close to stores bars and restaurants, and Has great personality. I could not recommend Jake or his abode anymore highly. 5 Star across-the-board.

Jake's place is great if you want to stay in Pittsburgh and be within a walking distance of Liberty Ave and Butler Street. The apt is nicely appointed and was very clean. It has a nice deck with a great view of the Bloomfield bridge and the sunset! We love that dogs are allowed as well, so we could bring our pup along. Jake is very communicative and was very understanding about an early check-in since we were driving directly from Toronto. We would definitely recommend the place!

We stayed at Jake's apartment for a couple of days leading into the weekend and couldn't recommend it enough. His apartment is great for remote work and ideally situated where guests can go out and explore during the afternoon and evening with a bunch of cafes, restaurants, bars, and shops just a short walk away. For a small fee, I was also able to bring my dog which helped make the place feel more like home. Jake's place is relatively close to everything in Pittsburgh by car being located in the quaint neighborhood of Bloomfield. There is street parking available but recommend you get there early or late if you want to find a spot close to the apartment. Note that the accommodation also has thin walls so you'll very likely hear your upstairs neighbors. Absolutely would still recommend!

Apt is in a great area with tons of amenities around. Kitchen and dining area is a great size and gets nice light. The bed is super comfy, bedroom is spacious for an apartment of this size. The backyard was perfect for my two dogs to run around, be mindful it is shared.

Jake's flat is pleasant and comfortable, with and excellent bed that made my bad back happy. The rooms are well-proportioned, and the kitchen even has a completely usable table for four. A few blocks away the neighborhood is quite interesting, a good example of how Pittsburgh has held on to local business areas. It's easy to get to other parts of the city by car--we didn't try public transport, but there seemed to be a lot of busses on the main streets. Our issues were the high front step--in addition to the back I have bad knees--and we always had to park a couple of blocks away. Still, we'd book again anytime.

Great location to the Strip District. Check in was easy and communication with Jake was fast! Kitchen was a good size and had the basics. We used the pull out sofa bed - great for a group of 4. Sharing 1 bathroom was a bit tight for 4 people but we made it work!

This is a great AirBnB.It's a great property in great condition in a great neighborhood.The bed is extremely comfortable. Jake's apartment on Taylor was perfect for a weekend trip to Pittsburgh. My partner and I slept SO soundly (seriously, I'm considering buying this mattress) and my dog was very comfortable in the space. The location was great, with many bars, restaurants and coffee shops to explore right at the end of the street. AND who knew?! A public pool just a block away? Bring your swimsuit if the weather is warm and head over!

Pros: great location, communication, parking is easy Cons: the place is run down, there is a backyard but it is communal and covered in poop, lastly the lack of cleanliness - the bedsheets were dirty and there were dirty dishes upon arrival.

Second time I’ve stayed and one of Jake’s places and everything was fine - check in and out is smooth, place was clean and in good condition, etc. The only negative with this place was that the back yard and deck is shared with other units - which, to be fair, was mentioned in the listing - and it was run down and dirty. I opened the door to go to the deck and there was literally an old mattress directly outside the door.

The apartment was exactly what we needed for the few days in Pittsburgh. Close to downtown, Shadyside, and everywhere else we wanted to go. The place was also clean and the internet fast enough to work on. While the parking wasn't an issue, but the listing is incorrect as it says "Free parking on premises" instead of "Street parking available". It's easy to do and Jake writes out the instructions to get your car listed with the government to get a temporary parking permit

Apartment was comfortable and super clean!

This apartment was perfect for us and our 2 small dogs. We loved the location especially since we are originally from Pittsburgh. The apartment was well appointed and had everything one might need for a comfortable stay. There was even a little back yard which was perfect for our dogs. Just a short walk to Yinz coffee on liberty for fantastic coffee!
