Jake's place was perfect. My daughter is going through treatment at UPMC Children’s Hospital and the location was fantastic. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the house was nice and cozy. Also, being able to have my daughters pup there was great. I had to reach out a couple of times, including once to extend our stay. He was super quick to respond and extremely helpful. We will definitely be staying at one of his places again!

bedroom window unlocked upon arrival, didnt mention it was level with the porch so as a solo traveling female I didnt feel 100% safe and especially without the inside of the apartment didnt have a physical lock to lock the apartment. I was not given a code for the front door either and had a hard time getting in contact with the host, called 4 times and left voicemail and didnt get a call back. once I did it a mesaage back was a bit of a struggle and wasn't able to just get the code even though I had already paid for it. moldy specks in the shower, the bath towels were damp. easy to find though. messy outside porch. kind of seemed neglected. would not recommend

We stayed in Apt. 1 . Really enjoyed the location and experience at Jake’s place. Parking can be difficult as it is street parking in a busy area, but Jake provided great instructions and we were always able to find a spot within a block or so of the apartment. Easy to navigate to local coffee shops, restaurants and attractions. It is Pittsburgh so be ready for stairs!

This place is very warm and welcoming! It has everything you need for a short or long stay. Our family really enjoyed living here and could not ask for anything more. We will definitely be returning!!

Great stay- very comfortable!

Ants, mice, a couch that smells of old urine, and an apartment that hasn’t gotten a deep clean in a long time - that was our experience here. We couldn’t even cook food in the kitchen without ants starting to crawl all over our plates. We saw mice scurry from under the living room couch to the kitchen. The couch smelled SO BAD, like old urine (probably from the mice), and it was so squeaky and uncomfortable. The beds were broken (a supporting foot broken on each bed), so they were wobbly and squeaky. Whoever cleans this place does not do a thorough job because there was visible dust everywhere. The internet was so bad and unreliable that we had to hotspot the entire time while we worked. The only good thing about this place was Jake, who was incredibly response and pleasant to deal with. He even got two parking tickets waved for me (the tickets were errors from the city entering our street parking permit information wrong). I would not stay again nor recommend it to anyone.

We loved staying at Jake’s place. It was spacious and well appointed. The beds were really comfortable. We would love to stay here again or at another one of his properties.

Great place, clean, what we needed. Jake, the host, was a throw back to the way Airbnb was before it became a price gouging app. Definitely reccommend him as a host and this property. We were a family of five and it was just right for one night in Pittsburgh.

Jake was a wonderful host and the apartment had everything we needed. Unfortunately the stairs getting to the unit were quite steep and difficult for us to climb (especially with luggage). Even though is was on the first floor I would not recommend this unit to if you are elderly or have any limited physical abilities. If not you will enjoy the stay with super comfy beds and great central location. Jake was great to do business with.

We booked this apartment last minute to break up a road trip and decided to stop in Pittsburgh. Jake’s apartment was perfect with an easy to find location and walkable to multiple restaurants. We enjoyed taking our lab for a walk to dinner and feeling close to everything while still staying in a quiet and safe feeling neighborhood. The home had everything we needed for a night of rest.

This Airbnb was conveniently located well designed. We were not here long so it was a perfect place to stay for the night. Jake was very accommodating and responsive and If we ever find ourselves back in Pittsburgh we would stay here again!

Jake was responsive throughout our booking. He gave clear and detailed instructions about the parking and check-in. The place was easy to find. No parking issues as we already registered for the parking as Jake had instructed. The place is as seen in the photos. Neat, clean and comfortable at a good price. The Airbnb is in a great location - easy to walk to Shadyside where you will find restaurants and shopping. Also very convenient to Carnegie Mellon. Very comfortable beds and in a good location. Slightly hard to find parking, needed to park on another street multiple times. Also, the other units in the buildings are airbnbs and being on the first floor you can hear them above you sometimes.

Great place for our little family. Very clean. Easy to get in and out. Can walk to many different restaurants. The only issue we ran into was that there wasn’t anywhere near the house to take our puppy out so we had to take her down the street. Overall, good stay, VERY comfy bed. Will stay again.

The flat has fabulous beds, excellent laundry facilities, good storage (closets), and good cleaning supplies. It's on an interesting, quiet street, in a very friendly neighborhood. The location is great for Walnut Street and CMU; it's easy to walk to grab groceries, etc. Jake responded to questions straight off. All told, an exceptional stay.

Great location and outstanding value! Jake was super prompt in communicating. Proximity and walkability to lots of restaurants was a plus, and area felt safe enough that we even went out to see the total lunar eclipse at 3am. Would stay again anytime.

Stayed at Jake's first floor , 2BR- 1BA apartment in Shadyside. Was in town for a short stay and was not in the apartment much, but it was perfect for my needs. The apartment was very clean and fresh, it has many improvements and upgrades, the furnishings are modern and crisp. Communication with Jake was great. He was responsive to any concerns. I would stay there again.

Great little place felt like home def worth the money would high recommend

This a very affordable rental with comfortable beds. However, the property does not meet the description. Furniture was broken (dresser), arm chair was stained, paint is peeling off the bathroom mirror vanity, door hinges detached, walls dirty. It’s located on a shabby dead end street across the MLK Jr busway. Owner also mislead me regarding location- giving me cross streets a mile away in a much nicer neighborhood. I should have known better because it was so affordable but the pictures looked good.

Last minute book for the night. Was in town for a possible winter storm. Ended up getting cancelled so we needed a place to stay. Very satisfied with the place and host!

This is our second time staying at one of Jake's places and he never freaking disappoints. I must say, I'm excited about it. The ambience and atmosphere is so homey, warm, and inviting. From the decor, to the bathroom, living room, secret kitchen area back door conveniently there to go outside, it was more than I bargained for in the best way. I'm spontaneous so I don't always have the time to plan ahead and the fact that his response time is impeccable, that works for my need of in the spur of the moment vibes. I love this place and I'm excited to check his other locations. This was a peaceful quiet neighborhood...Had a sense kd serenity about it for sure. It was fully stocked with silverware if needed. Let's talk about the King bed though......it was immaculate definitely felt that Egyptian cotton...do not lay in it if you plan to get up anytime soon. I'm just saying. I didn't wanna get out it. So plush, soft, and comfortable...especially the pillows. 10/10 4 me.

Appreciated the amenities that were in the Airbnb, such as the toilet paper (charmin ultra soft) and the memory foam mattress and thicker blankets. Providing the Brita was also very thoughtful and the Airbnb was also very clean. Cost effective while also being in a great and safe location.

We had a great time at Jake's apartment! Well located, walking distance from grocery stores and restaurant/shops on Walnut street. Jake has made the place very comfortable focusing on details like a great mattresses, blackout blinds, and fast wifi. He was very responsive when needed and I would definitely stay with Jake again!

My cousins and I came in for the Steelers game. We drove and it was easy to find parking right outside of the building. The parking permit was free after contacting the parking authority. The apartment was clean and homey. The neighborhood was perfectly located for restaurants and shopping. Would definitely stay there again!

Place looks exactly like it does in the pictures. Perfect for 2 with separate rooms. Visited for the night on a skate trip, it was just what we needed. Super clean. Had to park on a different street but it was still close enough. Pizza place down the street was slappin late night

My husband and I had a great stay at Jake's place! The linens and towels were luxurious and it was the perfect size for us to cook breakfast and enjoy a quiet night in watching movies. The street is super cute and completely walkable to lots of places, including a huge grocery store only two blocks away! We enjoyed the large screen TV, the super comfy beds and the great water pressure in the shower! Jake was absolutely responsive when I had questions and even suggested some water activities in the area. We would definitely stay at Jake's place again - any may even bring our teenagers next time. There is plenty of room with two bedrooms and a pull out sofa. Thanks for a great stay in The Burgh, Jake!

Maybe the most comfortable bed I have slept in. The bedroom had room darkening curtains and a sound machine. I didn't want to leave! Everything was spotless. If we ever get back to Pittsburgh, we will stay at Jake's place again.

Everything was super clear and Jake was incredibly responsive — great communication throughout. Loved the high ceilings and comfy beds. Quiet location and the AC worked very well during the heatwave.

The apartment met all our needs. The beds were comfortable with good sheets. The kitchen was clean and stocked with what we needed to cook. Nice restaurants and grocery within quick walk. Very walkable to both UPMC and West Penn hospitals too. Jake was very nice and extremely responsive. He allowed us to drop our bags before check in which was helpful.

Fantastic stay. Had a scheduling error and Jake was proactive, responsive, and accommodating. More than can be asked for and expected. It alleviated a lot of worries and stress that Jake was so helpful and always communicated quickly with lots of helpful details. Came to town for Pitt graduation and loved the proximity to Walnut Street and walkability around and to the grocery store. Walnut street is a great spot. The porch was lovely and we enjoyed sitting out there. Peaceful and great stay. We would happily stay again and would feel comfortable booking any of Jake’s places with the quality stay we had. Can’t speak for the second mattress, but the king was not as comfy as we were expecting. With two large people sleeping there, about 500 lbs total, the mattress moved a lot when one person rolled. We would book this place again in a heartbeat.

Jake was very responsive and easy to communicate with. He worked with me to get inside before 4 PM based on my travel which I very much appreciated. Big pro: Beds were super comfortable, linens very clean and nice. However, overall the apartment felt and smelled like it could use a good scrub. Some updates are definitely needed and many lightbulbs were out, didn't find replacements. Finally, there were mice running around the living room when i turned on the light in the AM. Horrified! I let Jake know and he was super responsive about having this issue looked into but.... gross. With some help and attention to a few details (i.e, so many broken blinds, lightbulbs out, replacing some items in bath, etc.), this place could be a great rental. But for now... not so much.

Very nice place to stay. Matches the photos and description. Parking was a little challenging but we found something on the next block over. Walkable to good restaurants and a large Giant Eagle. Ate dinner at Pasha- delicious with wonderful staff! The only negatives about this rental was very noisy tenant on the 2nd floor the first evening. She was loud way past midnight and I finally resorted to ear plugs to sleep. This is not a reflection of the Airbnb host, but something you should be aware of when you rent the unit. The area is walkable and felt very safe.

Perfect place to stay while my son is in the hospital

Really lovely apartment. Very spacious and spotlessly clean. Jake was very responsive (I had a question about the shower, but it was silliness on my part, nothing wrong with the shower!). Plenty of storage for clothing, which I appreciated. Shops are a short walk from the apartment which is super handy and it is situated in a quiet little neighbourhood. Would absolutely stay again!

Great location for Shadyside area. Walking distance to many restaurants and hang outs. Apartment was well equipped and clean. Instructions provided by Jake were very clear and easy to follow. We had an issue with a keypad code but Jake left an alternative solution as a just in case and was very responsive to fix the issue.

Clean, affordable, convenient place to stay in Shadyside/Squirrel Hill area. Jake’s communication was great! Very comfy beds, too, but be aware parking is tight.

We really enjoyed our stay and have fond memories! It was a lovely apartment. Once we found a parking spot (which was a challenge), we decided to use Uber for the remainder of our stay...which was great. To be fair, we were traveling with my 90 yo parents. We had a nice short quiet walk to the Eagle Giant Market which was a great grocery store. Fair warning...there are some steep external steps leading up to the apartment...just need to take your time. My husband and I would definitely stay there again if in the Pittsburgh area.

Everything was exactly as advertised, and the host was very responsive. We had trouble finding parking on the night of our arrival, but Jake responded to texts quickly and helped us locate a good spot for the evening. Make sure to read the reviews when deciding what you are looking for. They were helpful for us. For instance, this is a first floor unit and others had mentioned that there is some floor noise from the upstairs units. There was a bit, but it was not disturbing for us nor did it keep us from getting a great night's sleep on very comfortable beds. Jake's place was exactly what we were looking for. On our second night, we walked to The Urban Tap for dinner and a drink. It was great food and drink, and the walk was safe and comfortable. In short, a good place to stay and a great price. We'd definitely stay here again.

Place was clean, well stocked, nice amenities, and a good location. Perfect for a short weekend for a family of three. The only issues were no lights in the hallway between the main door and the apartment and extraordinarily loud upstairs neighbors. It sounded like a heard of stampeding elephants from 10:45-11:30 at night. You expect to hear footsteps and the occasional item being dropped but this was constant pounding. We would likely stay here again but would bring earplugs for sleeping.

I arrived at Jake's place early evening after a long day of travel with my son. We could not have asked for a better place to rest our weary bodies. Kudos for two of the most comfortable beds I've experienced at an AirBnB. Tucked away on a side street, you'll hear nothing but silence and sleep like a baby. Super convenient location that is walkable to to anything you need. Thanks!

The apartment was perfect for our family of four when we dropped our daughter off at college in Pittsburgh. We mainly ate at restaurants on Walnut Street; however, we appreciated having coffee and tea available in the kitchen. The extra supplies in the bathroom cabinet, like the first aid kit, were also nice to have, and the second bedroom was plenty of space for our two daughters. The only issue we had was that I wasn't initially able to open the entry lock or the back-up locks. However, Jake was very responsive and sent me a code that opened the door within a few minutes. Jake also did a great job answering my questions before and during the trip, and he kindly gave us a late check-out. I would definitely consider staying here again if I return to Pittsburgh with our family.

Clean, peaceful, and well-furnished apartment in quiet and safe area. Rooms were as pictured, and the instructions were helpful and easy to follow. Beds were very comfortable and we all slept very soundly. Since this is on a quieter street, there was not much noise from neighbors. Street parking was tight but pretty easy to find either right in front of the building or nearby. Good selection of restaurants and stores within walking distance. Overall, would definitely recommend!

Jake's place is ideally located. It's just a couple blocks from the nice Market District grocery store, and is an easy walk from various coffee shops and restaurants in Shadyside. The street the house is on is relatively peaceful and quiet and the neighbors are friendly. The place itself is comfortable. One bedroom is nicer than the other because it is more spacious and gets a lot of natural light. The other bedroom is fine too, but darker. The living room and kitchen don't get much natural light, but the home is equipped with enough lighting. The kitchen is very well stocked in terms of cookware, dishes and utensils. The cost for the stay was very reasonable. Overall I enjoyed the stay! Jake was very attentive, responsive and friendly. We had a few questions about parking and had requested an early check-in and a late check out which he was quick to accommodate. The only criticism I would have is that the trashcans outdoors were overflowing and some of that trash blew onto the porch.

The apartment is at the first floor of an old home and it has been recently renovated. The self check-in worked flawlessly and was extremely convenient as we arrived in the middle of the night with no problems. Parking was free with a phone call procedure well documented in the house manual. Jake has been extremely responsive and helpful. Location has grocery/shopping and restaurants within walking distance. We left the car parked and biked daily to CMU, Pitt and several spots in Pittsburgh (parks and museums). Definitely recommended for family visits to Pittsburgh.

We had a great stay at Jake’s place. Its very close to all the fun restaurants and cafes in Shadyside. The apartment is clean and has everything you will need. Jake and Chris were extremely helpful and responsive. We got a parking ticket due to some trouble getting the permit from the city and they helped us plea the ticket. Overall great experience.

Although I didn’t get to meet Jack, he’s very nice and friendly when communicating through Airbnb. The house is clean and the stay is comfortable overall.

Nice place but smaller than I expected. We stayed for a girls weekend and it was fine. But you need to move furniture if you want to seat 4 for a meal or cocktails. Just one small loveseat in living room and no mirrors in the bedroom so hard to get 4 girls ready.

Overall great value in a great location. If visiting UPMC Shadyside it's ridiculously close. the beds and bedding were the best amenities of the rental. Super comfy!!! The unit does show some wear but it was still very clean. Carpets are not pretty but they did appear vacuumed and felt ok. Parking is an issue in the area. We got in later around 8PM and could not find steet parking anywhere within few blocks. We ended up parking in the hospital garage which was a short 2-block walk. I would plan to Uber if you are staying so you don't lose a spot or have to go in and out of a garage. Users were very frequent, and there within few minutes so not a big deal. Jake is great with communication! Check in also very easy. Only other negative is the lack of a deadbolt from inside the unit. We would stay again. Thanks!

This is a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment, first floor (but up a flight of stairs if that's an issue for you, like many Pittsburgh houses), in a quiet neighborhood. Hotel-quality bedding and mattresses, spotless, and incredibly quiet. Literally a 5-minute walk from Shadyside Hospital, a slightly longer walk to Walnut Street in Shadyside, there's an excellent supermarket a few blocks away. I grew up in Pittsburgh and have stayed in several Airbnbs in the area and this was far and away the nicest.

Highly recommend- host is super responsive and accommodating- bed super comfy! Shower is powerful! Love Carpet - not so good Filthy- a lot of stains needs serious cleaning or replacing- i would stay again though

A perfect place to stay if you’re visiting Pittsburgh - plenty of room, easy check in, great location, easy parking. I’d stay here again!

My only concern was the party that occurred upstairs. That unit is not Airbnb. Bring a sound machine to help if that occurs during your visit. Unit was clean and comfortable. Location was perfect for our visit. Parking was okay. I guess it depends on the time of year. Thanks Jake!

The apartment is nicely decorated and the location was perfect for us. The kitchen was clean and well stocked with equipment. I liked the check in system since we had to arrive late at night.

Perfect home base for our visit back to Pittsburgh with our kids & small dog.

Parking was a challenge due to the congestion of vehicles and narrow roads. We are from the west side of the states and this was not something we were prepared for. We also had a late arrival. We slept in very comfortable beds! Our stay was less than 12 hrs and we only needed some where to shower and sleep. So a little more than we wanted to pay.

The apartment was perfect place to stay after a night at a concert at PNC Park. It was a great family friendly neighborhood. It was just a quick Uber drive from the North Shore. The beds were so comfortable and the shower was great too! The apartment had everything we needed. We would definitely stay there again!

Jake’s place was very close to strips of restaurants and shopping. Such a cute neighborhood! The beds were SO comfy and the shower had great water pressure. The only thing was that there wasn’t air conditioning in the bedrooms, only the living room space. If you left the bedroom doors open the cool air would trickle in. Jake was very responsive to some issues that came up. I would definitely stay here again!

Clean and comfortable place to stay

We had a wonderful stay at Jakes place. The beds were outfitted with cozy bedding for a great nights sleep. The unit was clean and spacious. Great location for shopping on walnut street, restaurants nearby and a quick drive or Uber to station square and PItt. Responsive host, easy check in and out . Safe quiet neighborhood but plenty to do nearby.

Great place to stay! The apartment was spacious and I enjoyed the little things provided such as opening the fridge to a full Brita, having towels on the bed for each person, and having shampoo and conditioner in the bathroom. Check in and communication was nice and easy. Parking was a little challenging, but side street parking in Pittsburg is never very easy!

Yet another great stay at one of Jake's places (this was our 5th location of his). Clean, quiet, and comfortable as always. Enjoyed coffee on the front porch, was able to get in a full day's work at the desk, and take the dog out for short strolls around the neighborhood. Wall-to-wall carpeting and central air made for extra comfort.

This location was great and the beds were super comfy! The unit was clean but was in need of a few inexpensive improvements, like the loose door knobs and faucets, and the toilet paper holder. Additionally the host messaged frequently promoting his other businesses which weirded me out. Overall it was a fine stay but probably wouldn’t return.

Although we never met Jake in person, his communication was prompt, professional and helpful. Check in at the apartment and street parking were super easy. The apartment is clean, comfortable and well-equipped. One note: It is quite a bit darker than shown in the photos- with only the front bedroom getting any natural light. The location is in the grittier north-end of Shadyside but the better shops and restaurants on Walnut street are a short 10 min walk, over the train tracks. And the super-market around the corner is a big plus. The late check in and early check out is a bit rough, but the host is open to changing the times pending the cleaning schedule etc. Overall we had a very good stay and would book again.

The location was near my son who lives close by. Perfect for us, as well as the ability to walk to many areas of interest.

Jake communicated promptly and made the rental experience easy. The location of the apartment was great - convenient to restaurants, groceries, and a Tesla supercharger too. WiFi is important to us, and when streaming Netflix, we found it to be very slow. The apartment had slightly dingy carpet, but for our one-night stay, and our need for two bedrooms to accommodate our family, this was a good and well priced choice.

Jake is a very friendly host who answered and solved my various questions very quickly. The room is very comfortable, all the facilities are complete, I enjoyed the whole stay very much.

The apartment is just as described; beds are very comfortable and clean. We were lucky with parking - right at the door. Convenient location. Wifi worked great. You can hear some noise from the neighbors upstairs - just like you would at a hotel; the neighbors are pretty quiet though. It was perfect for our short stay, thank you.

Excellent location in Shadyside and check in was smooth - no issues. However, unit needs a deep clean and a few upgrades. Carpet and all seating (bar stools and family room seating) is stained…the manager stopped by and said the stains could come off if they were given time between guests to clean as it will be set. The bathroom TP holder was off and had to be put back on. Bathroom tile is broken, bathtub there is no drain stop and the drain is rusted and the major issue is the only bathroom does not lock from inside as looks like someone had broken the knob. Rest of the unit has many paint scuffs and overall the unit needs upgrades. We provided the owner via private msg w what we would do in the short term to get the place up to snuff. Parking is street parking but that was fine. Communication was polite and the manager seemed to know the place needed a deep clean and a few upgrades. Overall great location but not well cleaned + needing many updates to make it a 5 star stay one that matches a superhost. So please don’t expect a typical super host level unit on the inside. We appreciate that the owner was open to this feedback. Good luck.
