Jake was super helpful and good with communication. His home was very clean and comfy, it was perfect for my husband, daughter, and myself. If we’re ever in town again we’ll make sure to stay here again!

Jake’s Shadyside 1 BR apartment was perfect for my son and I on our first visit to Pittsburgh. The apartment was really comfortable, especially the Queen mattress. The fold out bed’s mattress wasn’t great but it was normal for a foldout and fine for a teenager. The neighborhood is one of Pittsburgh’s nicest: great restaurants a few blocks away on Walnut St. The convenience store a few hundred yards away was…convenient. I really liked the showerhead and the water pressure. I appreciated that there was some tea and sugar packets in the cupboard. The offstreet parking spot was tight for our midsize rental but super convenient. If you have a large SUV or truck, you’ll probably use the street parking. All in all, great host, great apartment, great city.

Jake’s place was amazing! Absolutely even better than the pictures and Jake was a very kind host and made sure everything was kindly ready with clear instructions! Any questions we had, he answered swiftly! Very clean and as someone who is immune compromised I greatly appreciate the attention to the cleaning! We could walk to restaurants and felt very safe in the neighborhood! This was a really great place for my fiance and I to relax in Pittsburgh for a night and wished we could have stayed longer! Hoping to stay here or even at one of Jake’s other properties when we are back in the area!

Jake's apartment was very nice, comfortable, and extremely clean. Convenient and functional, it was ideally located, within walking distance of exploring Pittsburgh. The free parking was also very convenient. Jake was the perfect host, responsive to my messages and very helpful. The only downside for us was the lack of natural light, but overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

Highly recommend! We stayed at Jake’s place for a quick overnight. Perfect location-we did not have a car and were able to walk to get food easily after dark. Very walkable and safe area! The space was spotless, cozy, and convenient. Hope to visit again soon for a longer stay to explore Pittsburgh.

Nice property and was very walkable to all the good restaurants. We had our own car and thankfully the parking pass was very easy to get and the host has his own parking spot in front of the house. It was very helpful.

We recently stayed there before dropping our kid to college. Great location! We got there late night but had no trouble getting in thanks to very clear instructions. Apartment was also very clean and convenient. Jake was very proactive and responsive throughout.

We’d definitely stay there again, but it’s good to know that it’s not really a hang-out-all-day kind of place because it doesn’t get a lot of outside light.

My dog and I stayed over in Pittsburgh while driving to Chicago and Jake’s place was such a welcome oasis. Beautiful kitchen - wow. Lovely building in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. After staying in the city elsewhere, we loved having the chance for a couple of long walks - with grass! Everything was exactly as in the listing and easy to find, from the patio entrance to the washer and dryer. And the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. Would love to stay longer next time I’m through!

This was our first time renting an apartment via Airbnb. Jake's place was very comfortable for our 6 weeks long stay. This apartment is well situated , waking distance to great restaurants, grocery store, close to several bus stops- and this was very important for us to be able to commute to the university and near by places. Jake has furnished the apartment with almost everything you would need to stay comfortably. Since our stay was quite long, I had to purchase one to two items, example including aluminium foil in order to cook using the oven, but other than that it was perfect! My son and I were out of the apartment from morning to evening. There were couple of days where the family who had rented the apartment upstairs was a lot more "active" during night / middle of the night; but that I guess is unavoidable if you are living in an apartment complex. Jake is very responsive, helpful, and courteous. Jake, thank you for making our stay at your apartment a memorable one.

Jake’s place is one of my top 3 stays on air bnb and I’ve stayed many places. The place was easy to find great close parking and the apartment was very clean and impressive. There wasn’t one thing out of place. The shower was awesome, great pressure and the hot water was steaming. I loved the water filter that was in the fridge. Washer and dryer was a life saver. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud and the pillows felt like marshmallows. I was able to get some A1 sleep. The area was very quiet, I didn’t even hear and type of sirens at night. The AC was great with no issues there was a convenient store within walking distance which was great cause I forgot my toothpaste. I will most definitely be back to Jake’s place next time I come to visit Pittsburgh! I give it a 10/10.

The location here was perfect. It’s very walkable to coffee shops and restaurants and the parking in the back was very convenient. I would totally recommend this place to anyone staying in Pittsburgh.

Jake is a class act and I highly recommend staying at his place. We needed a place to stay to catch an early golf tee time and we weren’t getting in until late; we accidentally parked in the wrong parking lot and contacted Jake late at night and he responded immediately to correct our error and send us in the right direction just a block away! Jake is very professional and great communicator!

Overall it was a really nice stay. I was nervous to have a front door open right into the bedroom, but I felt safe in the neighborhood. There was a few little things, like dead remotes, some furniture stains, and a gash in the shower tub. Really nice apartment and well worth the rate compared to hotels regardless. Loved having a parking spot and places to walk to right down the street! I would come back here for sure.

The location and instructions were great! A nice quiet area during a Friday-Sunday stay. The only thing is that the place did not meet my cleanliness standards. Stains on bedding, towels, and lounge chair. Pet hair on bedding and pullout couch. They did not sweep/vaccum under and around the bed because I found previous guest’s items. I just felt like the place could have been cleaned and needs new bedding/towels. Otherwise a great stay and responsive host! The parking is a little tight in the back parking lot, but I feel like it is accurately portrayed in the photos provided!

It was very nicely furnished and centrally located. Parking can be problematic in Shadyside but there is a designated parking place which is really nice.

Loved the host he was super polite and responsive. I also was obsessed with the kitchen, it’s perfect for cooking. The apartment is a perfect size for a few people. Easy check in and I like the area as well. The bed is so so so comfortable.

The place is in a great location—very convenient for reaching CMU, nearby markets, and other essentials. The kitchen is well-equipped and nice to use. There were some occasional creaks from the upstairs neighbors, but it remained quiet at night and didn’t affect my sleep. Overall, a comfortable stay

The location was great; it's a 10 minute walk distance from Shadyside restaurants/shops. You also have a bus stop nearby. The heating was great and I could stay toasty the whole time. There were some creaking noises from the neighbors upstairs from time to time, but it was quiet at night. The layout was a bit weird as shown in photos, where when you enter the unit, your bed is right in front of you. But at least the heating and the insulation was good that even though it was 20 degrees outside, it was very toasty inside.

Jake’s place is in a great neighborhood. He was responsive and no major issues. It is a little weird that you go in and out of the back door into the bedroom (as clearly shown). Kitchen was beautiful but otherwise it felt a little worn- dings on the coffee table and in the tub, slightly saggy/squeaky couch.

You get what you paid for. There were additional cleaning instructions that appeared only after we confirmed our booking. Run the dishwasher, clear the trash and separate clean vs used laundry. Not a lot, totally understandable, but I would have appreciated reading this in the listing descriptions beforehand. Bedding and furnishing were of basic quality, just fine for a short stay, but expect no frills. One thing they sadly can’t improve on about this place is that the only windows open to an alley of trash cans. It is what it is. All together we were looking for a quick cheap place to stay and this place checked that box fair and square.

Location is terrific: near Walnut Street shops and restaurants; close to a busway station for easy access to downtown (and PNC Park). Perhaps best of all is the assigned parking space! We’ve stayed here three times—it’s become our “home away from home” when we visit Pittsburgh. Jake is a great host: responsive and helpful. We’ll definitely be staying at Jake’s place again soon.

Apartment was a little smaller than expected, great kitchen, small but ok bathroom, slightly cramped bedroom where entry was located.

This was our first Airbnb stay. We would book this apartment again if we need another Airbnb in this area of Pittsburgh. Jake was a responsive host to a small issue that arose. He had a nice set-up for 2-3 guests in this apartment. The location was convenient - took us a few minutes to get to Bakery Square or a 20 minute Uber to downtown. Overall, we felt we got a good deal for our weekend.

Jake's place was awesome! It's very private, has all of the amenities mentioned in the description (including a parking space), and is located in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Jake was very responsive and friendly throughout our stay.

Jake was a great host, with helpful instructions and fast, clear communication. The apartment is just what we needed, with a convenience store, wine store, and a few coffee shops and restaurants in walking distance. Convenient off atreet parking too. As a heads up though, the common area is quite tight (especially when you pull out the sleeper sofa, and no table just 3 counter stools) and the main entrance is located in the bedroom.

Jake was a responsive host and the location is well situated. The unit itself is good for just a few nights. It does lack any storage space, especially for hanging clothes, if needed, due to the closet being full of cleaning supplies. Also we needed to use earplugs due to the floor noise from neighboring units.

We had a lovely stay. I appreciate many of the handicap accessibility aspects that you've incorporated into that much older space. It was beautifully clean. My only suggestion would be to take a look at the transition between the kitchen and the living area there's a really abnormally high transition step there that is about an inch high and I tripped on that a couple times but no no serious accidents or anything. Just something to think about. The parking was amazing because it was so close to the to the house and we really appreciated that. It was quiet. And I hope our laughter wasn't too loud we watch movies at night and I've been scolded for that once or twice. So we tried to be careful about that one. We did use the sofa bed but just to relax on I put the sheets into the washing machine for our cleaning person before we left as well as the rest of the sheets and towels that we had used. Thank you for the last minute reservation and for extending it for us.

We stayed in this apartment for several weeks and it met our expectations. Kitchen is well equipped, linens, bathroom and cleaning supplies are well stocked. The apartment reserved parking is just a few feet away and is very convenient during winter. Grocery stores and shopping is within a 10 minute walk. Highly recommend this apartment.

The apartment isn’t well maintained and was in no way clean and ready for guests when we arrived. The prior guest had a dog, leaving dog hair on every surface. There were also lots of human hairs on the floor, coffee table, and bathroom, indicating no vacuuming or dusting had occurred. Lights are burned out in the living room, bathroom. The coffee table itself has a burn mark and is worn out. Shower curtain dread black mold. I think you get the picture.

We made a last-minute decision to visit Pittsburgh for the weekend and despite the Pirates having a homestand against the Phillies, we were able to book Jake's apartment. Having never been to Pittsburgh, we weren't sure what expect, but Sunnyside was nice and convenient. It was easy to walk to places for dinner and breakfast and getting out museums and downtown were easy (albeit not really walking distance). The space was a nice homebase for exploring the city; comfortable and quiet. Thanks!

The location was great. It was close to everywhere we wanted to go (restaurants/universities/grocery stores). The unit was small but well laid out. We even got a free reserved parking spot next to our unit. We enjoyed our stay here.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night on our road trip from New York to Colorado. The location in Shadyside was awesome with restaurants and coffee shops within walking distance. We felt super safe in the neighborhood and enjoyed being able to park our car right outside the apartment. The kitchen is definitely the highlight of this space, but the bed was also very comfy. Jake and his team were extremely helpful and responsive— would recommend this place to anyone passing through the city.

Great safe walkable location with everything we needed

If you are a dog owner or like to go running outside, I highly recommend this Airbnb location in Pittsburgh. The apartment is very clean and amenities are better than most hotels. The neighborhood is very safe. My favorite part is its’ location next to Noodlehead and Cafe Moulin, two extremely good and affordable restaurants that are in walking distance. Will definitely be rebooking if I’m in Pittsburgh again.

I went to CMU and stayed in Shadyside for 1.5 years. When me and my parents visited Pittsburgh for graduation, I wanted to live in Shadyside again, to be able to share that part of my life with my parents. Jake's apartment fully fulfilled that requirement. On top of that, it is an extremely comfortable apartment with a well stocked kitchen, pans, pots, cultery, oil, salt, pepper. They had ample towels and bedding for 4 people. They also had a washer dryer. And the place was squeaky clean. Jake was extremely responsive on texts. The place is also very close to CMU campus, coffee places, supermarkets, Walnut St.

What a great home base for exploring Pittsburgh! We were in the city for a celebration of life for my boyfriend Chris's brother-in-law. Chris's mom lives in Shadyside, and we were able to walk to see her. Shadyside is charming, very walkable, with lots of shops and restaurants. Jake's apartment was easy to find, with great off-street parking. It was clean and spacious, with a comfortable bed, a wonderful kitchen and even a washer and dryer. I had brought our Alexa with us and was pleasantly surprised that Jake had one set up in the living room. The TVs were equipped with Roku, so when we were not out exploring the city and attending to family, we were able to relax with our favorite shows. I saw lot of Pittsburgh, the Strip District, the Duquesne incline and Mount Washington, Point State Park and the PPG building. Jake's apartment was the perfect place to relax after a long day of sightseeing and visiting family. Jake was very responsive to my questions. I can't wait to return!

Clean and comfortable apartment in the heart of Pittsburg, check in went well but parking is cramped and hard to find. Furniture and bed were really comfortable and the shower was really nice with good pressure and washer and dryer are a plus for the price. Only complaint would be the noisy upstairs neighbor and a couple burned out and flickering light bulbs . Checkout rules seem a bit harsh but host was fair with his review of our stay.

Jake’s place was perfect for my stay. It was easy to locate, very clear instructions and easy to get into. The place is newly renovated and well appointed. The kitchen has everything you need, the living room is great, Jake has all the TV channels you could want, the bathroom is new and has shampoo, conditioner etc. and the bed is super comfortable!! The street parking is easy and there are shops and restaurants within walking distance. I will definitely stay in Jake’s place again.

It is clean, well stocked (thank you for providing laundry detergent and shower supplies!), and cute, with a closet and chest of drawers that you can use to unpack and make yourself at home. The neighborhood has a lot going on, and Jake is a terrific host. If you're looking for a home base in Pittsburgh, I recommend this spot!

This apartment was perfect for my husband and I visiting our son and his family...was close to everything...walkable to restaurants a convenience store...easy on site parking...unit was very easy to access, very clean and well kept. We have stayed many Airbnb’s during our travels throughout Europe and the US, and this one deserves 5 stars. The apartment exceeded all of my expectations and provided great value for the money. The location is conveniently located near all of the attractions and amenities that we wanted to visit including the Phipps Conservatory’s Spring Flower Show. I felt safe and secure throughout my stay, as the neighborhood was bustling with students and other travelers, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere. The parking was fantastic! Our car was snuggled up right behind the apartment’s balcony ( first floor and easily accessible). The apartment itself was spotlessly clean and equipped with everything that we needed to make my stay comfortable and convenient. I would highly recommend this particular apartment to anyone looking for a comfortable, affordable, and convenient place to stay while traveling to Pittsburgh, PA. We will be back!

Came in to visit my new grandson and Jake’s place was just very accommodating. Super clean and inviting. The only hiccup that could be an issue is street parking is hit or miss, there is a paid spot in back near the front door but it’s extremely tight getting in and out. If you’re use to city living then you should have any issues.

Jake's place is in an excellent location! The apartment is only a few blocks from Walnut Street, which has lots of restaurants and shops. The apartment is located in a very quiet neighborhood. The queen size bed is very comfortable! Also, the WiFi speed is VERY fast; which we really appreciated!! There is a pull-out couch as well, if you have more than 2 people. We brought our dog and found that the neighborhood was great for dog-walking. I highly recommend Jake's place!

My family and I loved our stay at Jake’s apartment! I was immediately relieved upon arrival at how immaculate the apartment was. Not a speck of dirt! As a newish clean freak mom, I really appreciated this. Jake’s responses were very fast if I had any questions. Location is central to lots of great cafes and restaurants. We will definitely be staying here for our next Pittsburgh visit.

The list of Jake's places we have stayed at keeps growing, and this hit all the high marks yet again - clean, quiet, comfortable, well appointed, great location. Stayed as a party of two for a 4.5 day stay, and we enjoyed all this newly renovated space had to offer - excellent kitchen (walked to supermarket for a cook-in meal or two), an island/counter for workspace, washer/dryer, ample closet space with plenty of hangers - as well as walking to nearby Shadyside restaurants and bars in either direction (Highland, Walnut). Two things you may want to contact Jake about in advance: 1) Parking in the back lot was a convenience (a bit tight, but do-able), with street parking nearby and available; and 2) keyless entry pad has a little "trick" to it - there was a clear note on the back door on how to open it, but it can be touchy. The latter was a minor inconvenience, just a "heads up". I would highly recommend this location (or any other of Jake's places, for that matter!). Thanks yet again, Jake!

Jake's apartment was sparkling clean and well appointed. It was in close proximity to the appointment we had the following day. We were also grateful for the designated parking for our car. Jake was great to work with, and he always responded to our messages in a timely fashion.

Great centrally located spot! Pet friendly! For the ladies, it felt safe to walk around by myself! There’s also a yummy coffee shop two minutes from the apt. Plenty of street parking. Location, location, location… perfect neighborhood to explore on foot and easy access to the major roads that took us everywhere …Northside, Southside Flats, Lawrenceville, Scheneley Park, Frick Park, downtown …it seemed like everyone thing was with in 15 minutes. The place also has everything you need for an easy and comfortable stay. Host was also very quick to responded to any inquiry and helpful.
