A great place to stay for a couple nights as we got familiar with our daughters new area. Located close to many activities. We also appreciated the easy check in and check out along with the quick responses from Jake.

Great spot, within walking distance to many great shops, restaurants, ice cream, etc. We stayed just one night to break up a long drive, but I'll be looking to stay here again if my travels take me through the area!

This is my second time staying with Jake’s ABnBs. Always responsive and helpful. Lists exactly what is described. Clean and beds were very comfy! When we arrived, the apartment was cool and relaxing. Great location- safe and a short walk to coffee shops.

Overall, great place/stay. The only 3 minor bummers were: - 16-steps to access the 2nd floor apartment (especially with heavy luggage). - The living room A/C unit was very noisy...had to shut off to avoid the intermittent/loud vibrations. - Saw several ants/bugs, but that's not unusual in old homes surrounded by dense vegetation.

Jake was a great host! His place was clean and looked just like the photos. It was a perfect and safe place for us to stay with our cat while we moved out of our apartment. The beds were especially comfortable!

This is a wonderful little apartment w charm and character. The layout of the space makes it feel spacious. My favorite parts were the soft, clean towels and the comfortable beds and linens. The street parking was good, the neighborhood darling and the location near walnut Street was excellent. Felt very safe to walk around at night and day. Jake was responsive and kind and a pleasure to connect with. The couch and a few other elements in the space felt well-worn, but cleanand for the price point I felt the place was perfect. I would stay here again without a doubt. My family will look at his other properties again in the future as well.

This place was located just two blocks from a very fun and attractive walnut Street with shopping bookstores and restaurants. We didn’t get to sample the ice cream, but it looked great. Jake was a great communicator but honestly, we didn’t have to talk about much because everything was fine in the apartment. All in all this was a much better option for us visiting University of Pittsburgh for a tour for my daughter rather than a hotel. More comfortable and affordable.

Jake is an excellent host. He provided clear instructions and promptly replied to any questions. The stay here was wonderful. We were looking for an older home with charm while having updated interior and close to CMU/Pitt and this is it! Street parking was easy. It was quiet and beds were very comfortable for a good night's rest. If you need to have absolute silence, this may not be the home for you. As one would expect in an older home, footsteps may be heard above you - it didn't bother us. Checkout was perhaps the easiest we've ever encountered. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Perfect little place for three of us to enjoy our first trip to PGH. Very comfortable with nice amenities. Great location just a couple blocks from Walnut St. Fantastic neighborhood with lots of great shops and restaurants. Jake was an excellent host and very responsive. We had a little trouble getting in the door the first day but Jake was quick to help resolve the issue and had no problem after that. This is a great choice for exploring the city. Highly recommend.

This was the perfect place to stay while we visited Pittsburgh! It was clean, easy to find and had everything we needed. Even our friend who is local raved about the location! Within walking distance to cute shops, restaurants and coffee!! Jake was extremely responsive and helpful when we asked questions about transportation to PNC for a concert! (An easy uber ride, btw!) We would definitely stay here again!

Have stayed on both the second floor unit and first floor unit at various points. Both stays were enjoyable. Very convenient location for what I needed too

The apartment is really nice, well-renovated, the beds are good, there's everythin you might need. There were a water filter and the olive oil on the kitchen, which was nice. The fridge is also big and nice, not a mini-bar kind. Other than that everything was perfect. If you're a light sleeper, keep in mind that there's an apartment above and you can hear them if they're loud (our case).

Jake was a very helpful and responsive host. Always willing to help. His place was very clean and the beds were so comfortable and welcoming after a long flight. Overall this is a great place and excellent host.

We had a place from Jake, it was located very quite street with the very rundown house exterior. We need to climb about 10-15 steps of stair (Stair was very steep, when you walked it made that squeak sound). My daughter and I felt very uncomfortable climbing that stair every time. It is very easy to find parking around the house. It is very weird the bathroom has no ventilation. It has very muggy smell when we go inside. It is also located next to the kitchen and inside a laundry room (Very strange layout). We can definitely tell the sofa needs some TLC, it is very outdated and the cushions had very strange smell (I think need to wash). Kitchen has no vent, if you want to cook some food, the whole place will smell. We decided not to cook. Bedrooms are decent size but we often heard people walking and running upstairs. I am a light sleeper, this place doesn't really work for me.

Everything about our stay was perfect. Jake was very good about answering any questions I had. The place was very clean, great location and had everything we needed for our stay I would highly recommend anyone visiting Pittsburgh to stay there

Jake's apartment is in a beautiful neighborhood, very quiet and easy to find. Jake's instructions on how to get to the apartment we're clear and easy to understand. The apartment was spacious for 4 people and very well organized. We stayed for a short trip to visit Pittsburgh University which was very close by and an easy drive. If our daughter decides to come here for college we would be staying again.

Great place to stay and close to lots of delicious food. Jake was very responsive, respectful and helpful. I was able to work and come back to a safe and clean place. The only note for anyone who has sound sensitivities, no fault of the owner, but how the construction is, you will hear foot steps, talking and sounds from the upstairs neighbors. Some earplugs worked great for me. Very friendly and diverse neighborhood with cuisine and options.

Our stay had some complications, but Jake was very responsive and cooperative with my concerns. He was very easy to contact, and addressed every issue promptly and fairly. I would stay with Jake again if needed, his locations are very clean and local to Oakland.

We didn't really stay much at all as our plans changed just before we flew and we stayed with a family member who needed support instead. We wouls have cancelled but.that was not possible given the terms and conditions we had knowingly agreed to in advance.

Jake was an amazing host, extremely responsive, friendly, provided extremely clear instructions for check-in & provided local recommendations in the area. The place was steps from walnut street, providing so much to do right when you exit the building. It was true to the description, clean & cozy. It featured everything needed for a Pittsburgh getaway! Jake is an excellent host who went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. We rent the second floor of the building and there are tenants above and below you. The unit is well maintained and renovated, however, the sound isolation was not ideal (the bedrooms are facing the street and you can hear garbage truck doing their work and upstairs tenant walking), typical trait of an aged house.

Worked at well!

Jake's place is centrally located to many walkable shops and restaurants as well as a short drive to all major city sites. It was perfect for our stay.

Jake's place worked well for our Steelers game weekend. He certainly lives up to his super host title...very quick to respond to every question...We a few minor hiccups which handled immediately. I would recommend his place to anyone.

Our stay was fantastic. Jake is extremely responsive, enthusiastic, and polite. We arrived at 8pm and there were several nearby parking spots available on the street. Beds were super comfortable and the apt was very clean. The pictures make the place look very modern (the furnishings, bedding, and towels are are rather new), yet the apt is in an older home, so there’s some “character” to the dwelling (eg, slightly sloping floors, a couple soft spots in the floor). It seems there are apts above and below, and yet it was quiet. The location was wonderful—about a mile from Chatham University, Carnegie Mellon, and just slightly further from Pitt (all very walkable). Walnut St was a delightful neighborhood find, just a couple blocks away with several high end chains (eg, Apple, Patagonia, J Jill) as well as local eateries and shops. If our son ends up enrolling in a Pittsburgh college, we’ll definitely be back! Thanks, Jake!

My family and I stayed at Jake’s place while on our way to Michigan to visit family and to visit Chicago. He is kind, courteous, and very responsive. His place was wonderful! Great for kids too! Clean, beautiful, peaceful, and the beds were otherworldly. Haha! We haven’t slept on beds that comfortable in years. As soon as my head hit the pillow I was asleep. Also, I LOVE that there wasn’t a cleaning fee. I don’t use Airbnb much anymore because of the hefty cleaning fees. And I have always cleaned up after myself and my family. It’s common sense. But now I’m being charged for something I already do and some hosts give you extra chores that don’t make sense in addition to the fees. No thanks, I can stay at a hotel. Anyways, Jake is going about it the right way. I really appreciate that and hope more hosts will do what he does.

The apartment is clean and quiet. It’s very conveniently located for accessing various Pittsburgh neighborhoods, especially if you have a busy schedule and time might be an important consideration.

This 2nd floor apartment was very clean, as promised. The 3 window A/C units worked flawlessly though are a bit loud, and the neighborhood is nice, walkable with an upscale commercial district 2 blocks away. It's also very close to the airport bus route, which is quite a deal if you have the time. Jake is a responsive host though for some reason he refused to give me a tel # --had to get that from Airbnb. Be aware that only the barest of food essentials (olive oil, salt & pepper, Folgers or similar quality) are provided in this unit. Best to go to the grocery store on the way to the apartment. There was a shortage of towels, but others were made available right away. Unfortunately, like other places, they use fabric softener on the towels rendering them barely absorbent. The bathtub spigot was semi-detached. Doors are all hollow core. Closing and locking the front door to the building requires some vigilance. However there were no security issues while we were there.

Absolutely loved staying at Jake’s place. It was our first time staying at an AirBnb in Pittsburgh and the location was close to everything. Super convenient, easy to find parking on the street and overall a great place to unwind and relax.

The apartment is in a great neighborhood that felt very safe and walkable to great shopping and restaurants. There seem to be many graduate students living in the area as the location is in close proximity to several universities/colleges. The building itself could be updated, but the apartment is fine, comfortable and very clean with everything you would need for a short stay. The layout of the apartment is great, and even though it is in a densely populated neighborhood, it is very quiet and peaceful. Jake was super responsive and friendly over the texts. We were visiting nieces that attend the University of Pittsburgh so it was a short drive to meet up with them down the street. I would definitely stay here again if we visit our nieces again! Pittsburgh is great city with lots to do.

Jake’s place is exactly like the pictures. It’s located in a beautiful neighborhood with a 4min walk Starbucks, which is a big win for me haha! Jake was also super responsive. His place is clean and ready to make you feel right at home. I wish I would’ve found his place earlier because I booked his Airbnb last minute after having a horrible experience at another Airbnb. Def recommend his place and will be my go to moving forward every time I travel to Pittsburgh.

The location was great. Communication was great. The unit was ok, which was disappointing for the price. One of the TV remotes had a broken back plate, a bedside lamp didn't work, there were only 3 forks in the kitchen, there was an outlet with no face plate on it in the living room, some of the air conditioners were old and loud, and there were no spare garbage bags for the kitchen garbage can.

Clean, comfortable place that matched its description. Check-in and check-out painless due to the smart lock. Responsive host, no issues with communication. We were just passing through, so didn’t spend a lot of time in the neighborhood, but it’s two short blocks from Walnut St. and all of its restaurants and shopping. Would happily stay here again.

Jake’s 2 Bed apartment was a surprisingly great place to stay. We made a last minute decision to visit the city and his apartment was the most affordable which made me skeptical but ended up being a phenomenal place to stay. Jake is great with communication and extremely friendly and the apartment itself was in a historic town that was just an overall very nice place to stay. If you ever need somewhere to stay, I would highly suggest finding a place of his because it will be easy and very much worth the money. Arrived very late after getting stuck in traffic and Jake was kind enough to respond late into the evening about the check in instructions. Ended up checking in after 1am with no issue. The place was even better than the pictures. Spotless, clean, and I really enjoyed the way it was decorated. The layout of the living room/dining area/kitchen is very inviting and nice with its open concept. The apartment is close to so many great things in Shadyside, and yet that street is tucked away and so quiet. I got such great sleep! The beds were very comfortable. The on street parking was no issue at all. The washer/dryer/kitchen appliances were great. And my dog really enjoyed both the place and the neighborhood in terms of walkability. Very pet friendly area of Pittsburgh. Can't say enough good things about Jake, his places, and how great of a host he is. I will definitely always look to stay at this location or others that Jakes hosts.

The only thing I would say is if you are not physically fit this unit has stairs. It is on me because it was noted in the description. I just didn’t read clearly. My bad .

The location was fantastic! Very peaceful street, kind neighbors, and easy to get onto the main roads to access other parts of the city. The apartment was easy to get into, and I never had any issues with parking. We were out of the apartment for most of our stay, but for the moments we were there, it offered everything we needed. We had a very pleasant stay at Jake's apartment. It was clean, spacious, comfortable, and just a couple of blocks from a street of interesting shops.

Jake's place is located in a quiet street 2 blocks off from Walnut and one from Fifth Ave, making it conveniently situated to walk over at any time of day to go to a restaurant and quickly accessible to the main street into Downtown Pittsburg and other attractions. The apartment is clean, well equipped and perfect for a weekend or longer stay. My family (2 adults, a 10 yo. and a small dog) visited from Maryland and wanted a place that was accessible to all of the sights but also quiet so we could rest and relax after the long days around town. The apartment is centrally located at an easy 15-20 min car ride to every point of intertest (Northside, Downtown, the Strip, the Zoo), and the restaurants at Walnut St. are a short 5 min walk. Check-in was a breeze, and Jake was always quick to respond to my messages and questions. We had a great time in Pittsburg, and we have Jake to thanks for his support and attention.

Awesome space and location. The bed was amazing. Highly recommend!

I have mixed feelings for this place. First of all the host instructions were awesome! We felt the unit was much older than I thought but added new paints to it. The wooden floors were noisy especially the folks living upstairs. Couldn’t sleep much during nights due to loud noise. The utilities were not good and not all the items were available as per mentioned in the description. We reached to the unit around 9PM and almost tired with the journey and when we thought of cooking there was no oil and upon asking the host, Jake responded promptly but ended up buying myself. I recommend everyone to always carry or bring your precautionary essentials for your own. Most importantly there were ants in one of the living rooms which made us uncomfortable especially when we have a <1 year old kid sleeping along with us. It’s too dangerous for kids sleeping in such conditions where a lot of things can happen. We promptly informed to Jake atleast the next guest can have a cleaned unit.

Very nice stay, bigger than expected

Communicating leading up to and during our stay was quick, thorough, and professional! Getting access to the unit was very easy. We mostly corresponded with Chris, via a professional hospitality service. The apartment itself wasn’t very clean, in need of some maintenance, and has its quirks. The floors were dirty including food under the table, and debris and hair on the rugs. Many of the apartment blinds were broken. The living space already doesn’t get much natural light, made worse by the blinds being broken. The building is quite old (and charming) and the floor creaks. We were woken up at 5am by creaking from the upstairs neighbors.

The apartment was comfortable, clean and convenient. Easy walk to many restaurants, cafes and shops. Also very close to bus service to Oakland for the universities, museums and Phipps conservatory. No need for a car if just visiting for a few days.

Very conveniently located, clean, comfortable apartment. Street parking was really easy to find often right in front of the apartment. Jake is very responsive which was much appreciated.

Staying here was great for a last minute schedule change. I love the neighborhood and was so happy to be able to stay in an updated, yet cozy, apartment with my dog! The place was easy to access, clean, and inviting. Would absolutely stay again!

Jake place is spacious and nice! Jake was very responsive with any questions prior to booking and during. If every Pitt again will definitely be booking his place again. On street parking was also easy to find!

Had a great stay here! Jake was very communicative. Location was minutes from restaurants and shopping, and just a few blocks away from several bus stops. Airbnb was clean, tidy, and had everything we needed. Would note that neighbors' wood floors can creak loudly and water pressure was a tad low, but this did not materially affect our stay.

Really comfortable apartment in a great neighborhood. Cozy, well lit, nice kitchen. Laundry was handy. Water pressure was meh but other than that it’s a great place.

Great place to stay, the host was very responsive and even allowed me to check out a bit later than the mandatory checkout time. WiFi was a little bit slow but aside from that the place was perfect for the price!

Jake was super responsive and the place was quite spacious for 4-5 people. It’s very accessible to downtown and other restaurants . The Wi-Fi was quite choppy and we could find some bread crumbs below dining table . Except these we really liked this place.

Jake is a great host and The apartment is very nice. It has everything you could need. A three block walk to Walnut Street is awesome because there’s lots of restaurants and even a Starbucks. Anyway, we will definitely be coming back.

The place was very large with two comfortable bedrooms , large kitchen and a nice living area. TV was able to get all the streaming channels. Really comfortable.

A cozy nice apartment to stay, my suitcase was a bit heavy carrying it to the second floor, took minutes to find a proper parking space, but when you get inside the apartment, feeling you just home! Washer and dryer were so helpful to me that kept us refreshed after 5 days road trip!

Jake and Chris were great, I was able to communicate with them really effectively. Their place was so tidy and so convenient, close to both university campus and lots of coffee shops, etc., good neighborhood. I thank them for this comfortable experience!

The apartment is in a nice area of Pittsburgh, close to good restaurants and shops. It is also conveniently located with bus-stops within short walking distances. The apartment was nicely done up, clean and comfortable. Jake and his team were always quick to respond and proactive with help. We would return.

Jake's place was terrific. The neighborhood was lovely and walking to Walnut street was delightful. The kitchen was extremely clean including the microwave. The bathroom and laundry nook were well appointed. The decor was current and there were so many charging ports available. Jake is a wonderful host!, great spot!

Walnut St is within a 5 minute walk. Parking was easy and we never had an issue getting a spot near the apartment.

Jake’s place was the perfect spot for our week in Pittsburgh. Really nice to be close to restaurants and cafés, and also walkable to the CMU campus (about 20 minutes). Jake was always really responsive via the app and was able to accommodate a slightly earlier check in and later check out, which we really appreciated.

Jake's place was great --- clean, well laid out, and had everything you could possibly need. But, it's all about the location, which was FABULOUS!! Great neighborhood and easy to walk to everything. The instructions he left to unlock the doors and to secure parking were easy to follow.

Great place- spacious, clean, and great decor. Keyless entry was a bit wonky, so needed to use a spare key. Jake was responsive and friendly, which was helpful.

Having never stayed in Pittsburgh before we were quite surprised and pleased at the surroundings and the privacy of being in the apartment. It was nice having some windows open and hearing the rain . Looking down on the back yard was pleasant. The apartment was very clean and well put together. This is a 5 star place. Lots of things to do and walkable.
