Stayed at Jake’s as a last minute decision to visit Pittsburgh. It was perfect for a one night stay! Clean for the most part and had everything you need.

It was exactly as described. Very close to the university of Pittsburgh. Conveniently located and easily accessible. It’s comfortable and a good place to relax.

This is the second time I've stayed at one of Jake's properties, and I will continue to do so whenever I'm in Pittsburgh. He's a great host and has reasonably priced stays. What really stands out to me though is the quality of the beds and the towels. It's the little things that make the big differences.

This is our 3rd stay with Jake. He is a very kind and responsive host so we knew our stay would be smooth! This particular location is on a quiet street and walkable to a lot of restuarants. Giant Eagle was about a 5 minute walk so that was super convenient. The apartment was the perfect size for us and our pup. The space was clean, cozy, and the beds felt amazing. We enjoyed our stay and will book again in the future!

My stay in Pittsburgh was excellent! The Airbnb was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. The location was very convenient—close to great restaurants, attractions, and easy to get around the city. The host was welcoming, responsive, and made check-in and check-out super easy. I truly enjoyed my time here and would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Pittsburgh. I’d be happy to stay again on my next trip!

Overall, this Airbnb was great. We loved the location; super quiet street that was easily walkable to all that Shadyside and the East End had to offer. The space itself is a little dated but it was comfortable. My fiancé was and I were really blown away by the quality of the mattress! She had three spinal surgeries in 2023 so it was a super pleasant surprise to discover that the mattresses were high quality and she could actually sleep/rest.

Jake's place was fantastic! Very spacious, comfy beds, great neighborhood. Market Pantry supermarket right on the corner and easy access to the nearby colleges and the hospital. We found parking easily in front of the house most of the time. The one time we came home after 9 pm, we had to park on the other side of the busway, but the walking bridge that crosses the busway made it very convenient. If we are ever back in the area, we would definitely stay again.

Such a great and responsive host. My children and I were able to check in almost 2 hours early (upon request). The home was very clean and cozy. I over slept accidentally and was also given an extra hour to checkout.

Check in and check out process was smooth. Price was reasonable. Comfortable beds. We had some issues with cleanliness upon arrival but they were addressed promptly. Great communication. Street parking was readily available. Overall, positive stay.

We were visiting colleges in the Pittsburgh area and Jake's apartment was a good fit for our family for a few days. Easy access to everything and great food options nearby.

Jake was very responsive. The cleaning crew may have missed a few spots in the bathroom, however they got it fixed right away. The main bedroom did get a little hot at night, but other than that the area was great. A lot of good restaurants near by!

Jake focuses on the important things - ultra-comfortable beds with great sheets. Top notch towels. And amazing communication. This apartment is really great and ideally situated in Shadyside, just a few blocks from trendy Walnut St. and within walking distance to several of Pittsburgh's best restaurants, including a dive bar with the best food, cocktails, and punk rock playlist (Kelly's Bar and Lounge).

We loved the neighborhood and it was an easy walk to shops, restaurants and cafes. Jake was always quick to respond and kind and helpful. Bed was very comfy with high quality sheets, pillows, bedding. Would love to stay here again when in Pittsburgh.

Second time staying at this rental. Parking is easy, it’s walkable to many amenities and a bus or Uber away from many parts of the city. Jake was very responsive and it felt like home.

I’ve been visiting PGH about 3-4x a year for the past three years and this was one of my favorite rentals I’ve stayed at. The location has been my absolute favorite of all the areas I’ve stayed in before, extremely safe and walkable to great amenities and grocery shops and cafes. The shower and beds in this rental were phenomenal. I loved the bed in the master bedroom so much I *literally* went home and bought one. It’s that good. I appreciated having coffee stocked in the house and the black out curtains throughout, along with the quick communication of Jake when we had difficulty finding parking when we arrived late night the first night of our stay. Would definitely stay again but would also plan to arrive earlier before all the neighborhood parking gets taken up for the night. That seems to be the only pitfall.

Be mindful that the free street parking isn't always available in downtown Pittsburgh. Aside from that, everything is perfect for a short stay.

My family travels to Pittsburgh a lot to take my son to Children’s hospital. Everytime we go we always use Jake as a host. I honestly believe he is one of the best host on this app. He is always very accommodating and his places are always spotless clean! I highly recommend staying at one of his listings!

We were in Pittsburgh for our child's commencement and we could not have asked for a more perfect stay. We are especially grateful to Jake for letting us check out a little later to accommodate our flight schedule. A+ experience and we would love to stay here again next time we are in town.

If you’re visiting Pitt CMU or UPMC this house is in an ideal location. Walk right to the top of the street for the city Bus or park on the street right out front of the house. It is close to many shops restaurants and a grocery store. Fun fact: cross the pedestrian bridge walk up to Ellsworth Ave turn Right and find one of Americas last wooden streets. It’s a hidden gem I promise. The house was very comfortable felt like home. We will book another stay very soon.

The comfiest bed in all of Pittsburg, nestled away in a cozy home perfect for my quick visit. Jake was responsive and kind in communication, the home was accessible and clean; I will pocket this gem for my next trip!

This place was perfect for a weekend in Pittsburgh. The place was clean and extremely comfortable. The beds were great quality - which was really important because my wife has back problems and she thought the mattresses were great. Otherwise, Jake was a great host. Super-responsive and helpful. I absolutely recommend this place!

Convenient stay for the night.

The apartment was perfectly fine. The price was good and it was roomy enough for four adults. The bathroom felt a little old but it was clean. The only real problem was street parking, which was very difficult. We returned to the apartment five times over two days and had no trouble getting a parking spot right near the apartment two of those times. The other three times, there wasn't a spot to be found on the apartment's street or any nearby streets. This was particularly problematic when we were returning late at night. I'm not sure there's anything that can be done about this but if you will have a car while in Pittsburgh, it's something to consider.

I needed a place close to my work site and this location was perfect. ALL instructions on apt entry and parking were precise. I had a concern with my Godson being an Asthmatic with no heat in the Apt. I believe the issue should have been dealt with immediately , not the next day. I would rent again because of the location

Convenient location and spacious apartment

The location was perfect. East walking to restaurants and shopping. Walkable to CMU and Pitt. Accommodated 1 adult and 2 teens, all needed their own sleeping space, without issues. Would definitely recommend!

After staying at his first place, it’s hard to follow up with something as good. Unfortunately, Mr Jake is a victim of his own success.

This apartment is easily walkable to coffee, stores, etc. and convenient to all of Shadyside.

Jake is one of the most wonderful host ! His houses/apartments are amazing and Matches description of the picture. he responds fast he makes sure everything is okay and good . he even helps when he doesn’t have a room .I will always recommend one of Jake’s property he’s amazing great communication:)

The only thing that was difficult was finding parking on the street a few nights while I stayed there, and the last night we were there there was some noise downstairs. Jake’s apartments are always clean, good locations& he is a responsive host !

We were a group of 3 at Jake’s place. While it was comfortable, I’d say the apartment could use some maintenance. The paid washer dryer downstairs was broken (it was filled with dirty water and there was a dead rat in the hallway), the tub wouldn’t drain properly, the WiFi was extremely slow (I wonder if the entire building was on one router), the utensils were damaged and we came home to a dirty coffee machine. Jake, as a host, was extremely responsive and helpful though. The location was good too, though it was difficult to find street parking at times.

Worked perfectly for our family get-together over Thanksgiving. Would not hesitate at all to stay here again.

This is a real find if you’re visiting Pittsburgh or any of the universities. Jake is so responsive and helpful. The beds and linens are amazingly comfortable. Quiet neighborhood. You can walk to Panera and a huge grocery store. Highly recommended.!

My sister and I came in for a concert at PPG arena and found Jake’s place! I was so clean and very comfortable! In fact my sister asked me to reach out to Jake to find out what brand comforter and pillows he used lol. We slept so great and really enjoyed the local pizza place at the bottom of the street! A lot of these reviews said the street and area was quiet and I was skeptical because it’s Pittsburgh, but oh my gosh it really is!! I was so pleasantly surprised!! We will absolutely book again!

The apartment is at the second floor of a house. It’s clean, cozy, and very convenient to get to everywhere. The street is quiet and safe, very close to a market district. I definitely will stay again in the future.

Jake was a great host! We had a last minute one night trip planned to Pittsburgh and this was the perfect location. It being pet friendly was a huge plus! We will hopefully stay again next time we visit Pittsburgh.

Nice place (need to climb some steep stairs) and vibrant location walking distance to stores, shops & restaurants, and close to Pitt campus and Shadyside. Jake arranged for a parking permit for street parking and the place was clean with nice amenities.

We were in a pinch and needed a place to stay fast. This was the perfect place! Thank you so much.

Mouse was found in the kitchen. It's totally understandable cause this happens. However the host was not helping at all. While assuring us that he would send pest control people to the unit, he could not promise to help us get rid of the mouse inside of the house but only do traps or stuff outside the house. Neither could he give us a concrete time when they can get everything handled, leaving us pretty unsettled and could not expect when we can back to the unit. We check-out and left the unit at the fourth day with originally 11 nights, got only 25% refund.

We were in town for the Bucs game and having two pups, we needed a pet friendly place. Pros: Jake was extremely responsive and nice. Anytime I had a question he answered and clear instructions. Cons: I did it realize this was a second story apartment and a little smaller than expected. No yard for the dogs to use as a bathroom. There was trash left behind including a needle head which I’m glad we found before one of the pups did. The place seemed semi-clean at first but at closer look it was very dirty. The more you looked the more you realized. A great example, laying in bed I look up and realize the fire alarm was removed and wires hanging from the ceiling. Overall: Jake was a great host but the space and cleanliness was not worth $300 for one night. Kinda disappointing.

A super comfortable stay in Pittsburgh, which was greatly needed after a very long drive. The beds were large and clean and comfortable. The whole apartment was very nice with everything one would need. It was a very sweet street in a neighborhood where you could walk to many things and Jake was extremely helpful and communicative. Jake's place was wonderful for my stay this week. parking was a little hard to find the 1st day but I was able to find spots my other days. Bed was exactly what I needed after 12 hour work days, the neighborhood was quiet, and so was the building. Jake was responsive, and helpful with any concerns I had. Will definitely be looking into staying at any of his places in the future.

We stayed at this apartment for 4 nights for a Pitt graduation. Was a fantastic choice. We were able to easily walk to the university (1.5 miles) and enjoy some time in Shadyside -- right over a walkable bridge. The apartment is just what we were looking for!

Jake was a very responsive and flexible host! The space is cozy and well-lit (great natural lighting in the larger room) and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. When talking with Jake, I had asked for an earlier check-in time, and he made it happen with lots of communication - he usually almost responds immediately. This spot is very convenient, as it's a very close distance to grocery/convenience stores as well as Shadyside. It was a very convenient location for us as it's only an 8-minute drive (and an easy bus ride) away from Oakland.

This place was in a perfect area of Shadyside neighborhood in Pittsburgh. Such a cute space with a great kitchen, comfortable beds, home like vibes, and very clean! The only thing to mention is street parking can be a little more difficult to find at night, but it’s a city so I would expect nothing less. No complaints at all! Love this unit and the host was great! He was friendly and responsive and offered local recommendations that were very helpful! Definitely would stay here again in the future!

Quiet environment, warm room, we lived here for a month. The Jack team made the room very comfortable and beautiful. There are televisions in the living room and in the master bedroom, and the bed in the master bedroom is very large. There are a lot of cutlery in the kitchen. The electric kettle is my favorite. The desk in the second bedroom is very good. There are also a lot of lamps arranged. His team answered my question in a timely manner. My family is very happy to stay here during the holiday, and if we have a chance to come to Pittsburgh next time, our family will regard it as the first choice. The apartment is very close to the large Eagle supermarket, about 3-5 minutes' walk. I even applied for a membership card and enjoyed a discount. A 2-3 minute walk is the bus stop. There is also a good gym near . The pizzeria next to the street is delicious as well as Korean food and Chinese restaurants. It takes about 12 minutes to walk from the apartment to Hospital.

The space is very cozy and has everything you need for a weekend visit, and was in a convenient location to get to and from various places in the city. I also appreciated how easy it was to communicate with Jake about any questions, and they were all answered.

My mom is hard to pleaseeeeee! I stayed here with my mom and my kid. Jake had everything my mom needed for coffee! That was the cherry on top for her! My kid didn’t want to get out of the bed bc of how comfortable it was. The home was very clean. Nothing to complain about. The location was convenient if you’re planning on attending a UPMC hospital. I recommend Jake 1000 percent. I misread his instructions and checked out at the wrong time, but Jake was very understanding of my situation. Thank you Jake for being a great host. I would HIGHLY recommend him, and would 10/10 stay with Jake again.

Jake’s place was perfect for what we needed. Comfortable beds, peaceful street, close proximity to many great shops, restaurants and the city. Great neighborhood clean and welcoming atmosphere

Jake's Pittsburgh rental unit was available for us on short notice, and Jake was very responsive to our questions as we got more details before booking. He responded right away and was a good communicator This unit is located in the Shadyside neighborhood, which is a nice, safe area close to restaurants and stores. It is off the main street. The unit is pet friendly. There is a reasonable per-stay pet fee. Our dog was very comfortable there. The bed is extremely comfortable and the linens are nice. The sofa is a great size for two people and a dog. The whole place was clean, well-designed and welcoming. We will stay again the next time we are in Pittsburgh.

Overall we would definitely stay here again. The walk to walnut/downtown shadyside was quiet, safe, convenient, and very beautiful. Bed, sheets, towels, bathroom and the important parts were all very clean but the bathroom fan was a dusty along with the HVAC vent and the doors were a little dirty. Nothing a magic eraser can’t fix but overall it served the purpose we needed it for and loved the walkability.

Our stay at Jake's place was very nice. Check-in was easy, the apartment was clean and furnished nicely, and the location was very convenient and centrally located. The only thing that wasn't great was the 10am check-out. It's not outrageous, but it is pretty early and definitely influenced our Saturday night plans. Other than that, I have no complaints and would happily stay again.

The property looks just like the photos and was comfortable. It needs a deep cleaning and some maintenance. One note: the entrance stairs are very steep and there are many of them, so not the best for older folks or traveling with more than one bag. There were no issues with the on-street parking, and no noise from traffic or the neighbors.

Generally speaking, the place is good. It is quiet and clean. However, the host requests we check out before 10 am, which is very seldom. There's no disposal and the tank was easily got messed up if you cook.

The location worked well for my trip. Walking distance to grocery store and the main drag, Walnut St., in Shadyside. The 19 steps up to the second floor apartment was not mentioned in the description (or perhaps I missed it). I was aware of the 10 steps to reach the front porch from the photos. I was informed 2 days before arrival that I'd be on the second floor. This could potentially be a problem for someone who's not agile. On entering the apartment there was a funky smell that was not being masked by the abundant Febreeze use. The bathroom sink was not cleaned although the rest of the bathroom was clean. There were stains on the carpet in the living room. There were also minor maintenance items such as loose door knobs on the bathroom and 2nd bedroom doors, a missing cover to the bathtub overflow and a broken kitchen sink faucet which made the place appear uncared for. As a 10 year AirBnB patron this property ranks a 3 on a 0-5 scale.

My stay at this residence proved to be a wonderful experience. Over the course of three days, I reveled in the comfort and quality this house provided, thoroughly impressed by its high value-for-money proposition. This is a delightful house that should not be missed.

Jake was such a gracious and responsive host! The unit was clean and as described, and instructions on how to check in and out were clear and easy to follow. Parking was also super convenient. Jake clearly went above and beyond to help us feel at home during our stay and I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet, safe, and comfortable place to crash in Pittsburgh 🤗

The initial communication was great. I checked in 3:30pm and vacated the property by 6:30am the next morning. Something bit me during the night. Leaving a huge welt. I found 1 bug… didn’t think to investigate further. Attempted to get another place to stay through them… to no avail They basically treated me like I brought the bug… said they investigated the entire apartment and there was only one bug in the whole apartment that I found under the pillow. One bug too many for me especially in the bed! Airbnb help said they could assist if I could show them a picture of an infestation!! I did not think to search for more bugs!!! They refused a full refund stating the circumstances were unusual, so I agreed to an early departure. The owners said whatever bit me didn’t occur on their property. This was so disrespectful and hurtful. My plan was to work remote for the week I live in NC. This was a disappointing stay, but was glad my backup was family.

Nice apartment in a great area

The apt was immaculate very clean and spacious the only problem was parking first cone first serve but its like that in Pittsburgh i found the hard way new to area no fault of Jakes

Expected just like the photos , very lovely place a tad bit noisey from neighbors they also seemed to be not really friendly but nothing we couldnt ignore. Overall wonderful!

great stay! brought our two small kids for an impromptu Pittsburgh getaway. both us and the kids felt right at home and we had a very comfortable night. it was clean and in a nice area. we felt safe and secure. parking was relatively easy on the street. it's within a 15 minute drive to just about anywhere you would want to go in Pittsburgh. 10/10 would recommend and would stay again.

This was ur first time at one of Jake’s airbnbs. The place on the second floor was very clean and comfortable. Easily accommodated 4 adults and 6 including kids. The Apt matches the photos. The beds were amazing comfy and the sheets and pillows were clean and spotless. He has tea and coffee and toaster and coffee maker. Shampoo and conditioner (no body wash or bar soap) but plenty of hand soap and body moisturizer. The front porch could be better maintained but it was still very nice to sit there and read. Very quiet residential neighborhood, within 5 min walk to walnut St for trendy shopping and restaurants and also Giant grocery store and many more restaurants at the other end. The Wi-Fi worked great and lots of TV options. I highly recommend Jake’s Airbnb. My son decided to settle in Shady Side and rented a studio Apt very close by, so we will definitely use Jake’s place when we come to Pitts to visit my son.

Our stay in Shadyside was perfect and Pet Friendly. Easy walk to town and a short drive to Oakland and Squirrel Hill. Jake was very response. Parking was readily available. I would definitely recommend this place if you are visiting Pittsburgh.

I would highly recommend Jake's place to anyone visiting Pittsburg. It was everything I expected and more. Beautiful location with great restaurants and shops within walking distance - If you go to breakfast at Cafe Moulin is a must do! Very communicative and responsive and above all a very fair value! We stayed at one of Jake's properties while visiting Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh. Jake was a fabulous host. He was extremely responsive; responding immediately to every email. Directions on everything from check in, to things to do in the neighborhood, to how to use the TV were very clear- he has a digital handbook that was very easy to navigate. The place was very clean and felt like "home". It was within walking distance of restaurants and shops, and the University that we were looking at. We greatly enjoyed our stay, and would definitely stay at this property again!

Everything was excellent. The only hassle was to get the parking permit, which turned out to be easier than I thought.

Good communication with host, accommodating for a late check out which was helpful for us. Very clear instructions, easy to find. Good location, walkable, quiet neighborhood although there are train tracks very close by but it wasn't an issue for us. Beds were comfortable for two of us, the third found it too soft - so that's subjective. Shower head is nice, water was always hot. Steps from street to house are steep so could be difficult for some. Free street parking but can be very scarce especially in the evening. Other reviews described this unit as clean, even "immaculate". This is probably the most important criteria for me when renting an AirBnb and I would not agree. The carpet is very stained and appeared quite dirty. The kitchen counters had some reside on them, the stovetop and microwave door were grease streaked and the inside of the microwave was dirty.

Very nice place for our family of five (two parents, three adult daughters). Convenient location in Shadyside. Well-equipped kitchen. Street parking available, and Jake provides means to access a guest parking permit. Need to climb upstairs, so would not be good for people with accessibility difficulties.

Jake was very helpful, responsive, and communicative. The apartment is nice and cozy (although a tiny bit smaller than expected) with great amenities. Extremely convenient location!

Jake’s apartment was easy to find and exactly as how it was described. Parking was a bit difficult but other than that the apartment was perfect! He was also very flexible when I had to change my dates last minute.

Great place in a central location of Pittsburgh. Beautifully decorated and clean and plenty of amenities and places to see in the are to do . Only compliant which really isn't anything on the airbnb is parking. Other than that highly recommended!

Very nice, quiet property in the heart of Shadyside within walking distance to Walnut St. Condition was as advertised and had the conveniences of home. We found parking in the evening required a lap or two around the block to find a space, but nothing too difficult. Will stay at the property again when visiting Pittsburgh.

Very nice place and worth the cost. Parking is quite so easy. While it is free once registered, the odds of finding a spot close to the apartment are not in your favor, but it is tolerable. Overall, a good experience. Beds are extremely comfortable.

Great night sleep

Great place, kept really clean with all the necessary amenities; this is the second time we are staying with Jake, and love it how well he communicates; will keep booking this place as we visit our daughter in CMU. Very conveniently close to grocery shops and restaurants; walking distance.

Jake’s place was in a great location and had everything we needed for a long weekend in Pittsburgh. The beds were very comfy and the high speed internet held up well for both TV viewing and working from home.

Pretty good stay overall... but the intercom was broken and the improvised solution caused a privacy concern. To his credit Jake was very responsive but was unable to fix the issue before i left. Id recommend this place... if the intercom issue is fixed.

This place was super comfortable (the beds were truly amazing!). The location is super convenient: close to Walnut St, supermarkets and at the intersection of a variety of great neighborhoods. Jake is also super responsive - the communication was great. The only downside was the internet was really bad. It wasn't fast enough to use Zoom or other video conference tools the days we were working remotely. Jake was super responsive and apologetic however and I'm sure he'll get it fixed!

The apartment was spacious, clean, attractive, easy to find, great location, quiet neighborhood, and host was super responsive and nice. Only downside is if you have issues with stairs…because it does have steep steps and is on second floor so keep that in mind. For us that wasn’t an issue.

Great location! Short walk to a nice street with lots of shops and restaurants. Worked for us for a quick overnight and looks like it does in the photos. It could use some basic upgrades to enhance the space, such as fresh paint and new chairs for the dining table, along with a few other upgrades.

Jake is a great host as far as the eye can see. Great response time, ad described perfectly just how the place is. Seems like a good area, neighbors are friendly. You really can’t ask for much more than what Jake has provided during my stay at his rental unit. (Or whatever the correct verbiage should be used.) 5 stars, 0 problems. Will definitely use Jake as a host again.

Wonderful location by the giant eagle, and the pedestrian bridge makes it easy to get to walnut st area of shady side. Parking was not too bad there always seamed to be a spot near by or around the corner. Stairs are steep so be careful

The house has all the basics needed for a nice stay. We enjoyed the quick walk to the grocery store and the short walk over the bridge to a nice area with lots of restaurants!
