Great place, however the TV service was not good. The TV had Roku only and the in the main living room would not allow us to mirror, therefore we could not view the major news channels and sporting events.

The place felt like home I could've moved right in. Only problem I had is that my code for the doors didn't always work. But besides that everything was wonderful I would definitely stay again.

This listing is in a great location and we found the host to be very, very responsive and easy to deal with. The apartment was also quite clean and had everything we needed inside. It also had a nice outdoor balcony which with the weather good was nice to be able to use. The apartment building is also fairly new. That said, the walls and floors/ceiling are very thing and we were awakened each night in the middle of the night (midnight, 1am, etc.) with someone clomping down the hallway above us over and over again. (I don't think they were being especially noisy--see above on thin barriers between units). We also got the feeling that things were barely attached to the walls--several fixtures seemed precariously nailed or screwed in. Just opening the shade to the patio, one of the slats came off and several were already off so we didn't have full coverage of the door. My only other complaint is not applicable to most people but with two kids under age 5, there wasn't anywhere for them to sit. The apartment only had high stools, not any standard height chairs at a kitchen table or somesuch. This made meals tricky. All that said, with the responsiveness of host, great location, and price/value, I would still recommend this, especially if you are a heavy sleeper or night owl and not bothered by hearing your neighbors or fellow roomies.

We had a wonderful stay! The place was very clean, comfortable, and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, it truly felt like home. Everything was well maintained and thoughtfully arranged, which made our stay relaxing and enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this place and would be happy to stay here again!

I have stayed at one of Jake's properties before and I would stay again in any of his properties anytime I get a chance. He is extremely easy to work with and friendly and flexible and helpful. Just all the good things! He responds super quickly and addresses concerns immediately. The place was missing some teaspoons, and his manager had them there within 5 minutes of me asking for them. Also, I love the design of his places and sometimes get inspiration from my own house from his design choices. Nice luxury touches.

Apt was clean, exactly as listed and host was responsive and helpful. Had a quick overnight stay for a concert in the area, but listing was perfect for our group.

My friends and I (a group of 6) enjoyed our stay at Jake's place. We're from Cleveland and traveled to Pittsburgh for 1 night out on the town. The place was very clean and modern, which I like a lot. The beds were comfortable and the commination between host and I was timely and professional. I would recommend a stay at Jake's place.

Unfortunately, I was disappointed with our stay compared to my expectations from the listing description and the cost. I was expecting an "immaculate" apartment, shiny and new, and very comfortable - but that's not what we received. It's not bad, but it's definitely rough, corners were cut, the overall construction seems quite cheap. A few specific issues: The doors were unlocked and open upon our arrival, which was a bit concerning. The upstairs neighbors were unreasonably loud, and/or the construction is so cheap that there is no sound dampening between floors. They toned it down a notch after I reached out to the host, but generally still bothersome. The water pipes in the walls screech non stop. This woke me up about every hour or so throughout the night. It's a sound similar to dropping a metal spoon on a hard floor, in the bedroom. Randomly, constantly. Primary bedroom only has basic blinds and does not have blackout shades (for a balcony door in the room).

This is my second time staying at this location. The first time, we were on the fourth floor (which we also loved!) but my dog was not loving all the steps. For this trip, Jake kindly accommodated us so we were on the first floor instead - a huge plus for our pup😊 My son also arrived a few hours early and Jake was very responsive and let him in earlier than the posted check-in time. Thank you, Jake for always responding within minutes! We will definitely stay here again when we are back in Pittsburgh!

Very responsive host. Kitchen is stocked with essentials. Starbucks coffee and a wonderful coffee/tea bar. The beds were very comfortable, plenty of linens and towels! The showerhead in the back bathroom was the highlight of my kids stay! Walkable to restaurants and Target, safe/quiet neighborhood. Easy off street parking, as well as street parking with handicap accessible entrance.

One of the best places we've ever stayed. Immaculate condition when you enter the home, and you'll notice the cleanliness as you come in - right from the floors to the linens to the spotless kitchen and dishes. Everything is provided for and well thought-out, especially the towels (plenty for all). Beds were very comfortable as well. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. But perhaps the best thing about this place is the host. Jake is super responsive at any time of the day for anything - I've contacted him at random times, including at night and the responses have come back within 5-10 minutes. Overall a fantastic experience!

This was a last minute booking for us and Jake confirmed the reservation quickly. The information for checking in and parking were very clear. The apartment was exactly as described and in a great location. We all woke up complimenting the beds and how great we slept. Everything was clean. We will definitely keep Jake’s place in mind next time we visit Pitt!

Location is good for one car! House was clean & host was kind! Could use a little TLC: Bath plug was broken but a rag worked ok.. blinds on the sliding door were unable to be moved and fell when you looked at them.. couldn’t find toilet paper because there wasn’t a holder but figured out it was in the drawer under the sink! My worst complaint is no fault to the owner but apparently a tenant next to us smokes pot all night and I have never smelt that so strong. Made it a little difficult to sleep!!

Place outside lacking cleaning-found trash on garden and main entrance door was dirty. The house was clean but one bedroom had sheets that were stained. First day of Stay there a loud noise from Bathroom that was coming from walls. Totally scared me and thinking it’s the water pipes Should be noted.

Jake dots every “I” and crosses every “T” when it comes to providing for guests. Whenever we had a question, before arriving & during our visit, Jake was polite & quick to respond. Very easy programmed access into a fully equipped, totally comfortable apartment conveniently located to the shops & restaurants in Shadyside. Any time we visit Pittsburgh in the future, we will hope to find one of Jake’s places. He’s a wonderful host.

This host was lovely and the property was in perfect condition. I needed a last-minute accommodation for work related travel in the city and this is a perfect and quiet place close to a lot of wonderful restaurants and Shadyside is a wonderful area in itself. The communication was good and it was a relaxing night of rest.

Jake’s place was an oasis after a long drive — beautifully appointed, with comfortable beds and plenty of space to truly relax. Every detail felt thoughtfully considered, from the layout to the small touches that made it feel welcoming and easy to settle into. We can’t say enough about what a fantastic week we had as a result of the well appointed, comfortable, and clean modern apartment we stayed in. In addition, the parking situation was super convenient and made driving back and firth to visit family hassle-free. As NYC based folks we love walking to the gym, restaurants, shopping, etc. and therefore for us, this Shadyside location was perfect. We stayed in apt 101 which is the second floor from the back of the building and the main floor from the front of the building and it worked out very well. The layout was excellent and although it was cold in Pittsburgh during our stay, we still loved having TWO outdoor spaces. Even our 22 year old daughter and our 7 year old mini-golden doodle were happy! Jakes responsiveness and approach are phenomenal. We would be thrilled to rent from him again.

Absolutely loved my stay at Jake's pad! 🌟 Tucked into a walkable pocket of Pittsburgh, this home put me steps from cozy coffee shops and great restaurants—perfect for morning lattes and evening bites. Inside, everything was spotless, airy, and thoughtfully arranged, making it feel like my own place from the moment I walked in. The spacious layout meant I could spread out and truly unwind after a day exploring the city. Couldn’t have asked for a cleaner or more comfortable stay. We had more family members with us this time so we got the king suite. plenty of room for everyone. the place was immaculate, clean, modern and so bright. great area with access to everything within a walking distance. What makes this place 100 times better is how quickly and effectively Jake responds when you need anything or have any question. We loved the property and we will be back.

My family enjoyed our stay here. Perfect spot in a great neighborhood. Also comes with one dedicated parking space, which was necessary for us. Some of the fixtures in the home could use some attention (door handles, closet doors), but aside from that, it was a great place to stay and I would recommend again.

Jake was amazing place was ready for us. the showers are immaculate, the beds are comfortable, TVs are huge, the kitchen was prestine only thing i would say is add a baking sheet but other than that was truly worth what we paid will be using again

Exceptionally clean, well appointed and located in a prime location in Shadyside, Jake’s condo exceeded my expectations. Hotel level style and comfort complete with functional living, dining and outdoor spaces. Just one block from upscale dining, coffee shops and retail. Enjoyed easy access to conveniences like Target and Trader Joe’s while visiting my daughter at University of Pittsburgh, which is an easy 10 minute drive. Communication was thorough and timely with Jake and his team. Highly recommend and will definitely consider renting from Jake again.

This was a great place, we stayed with our two toddlers, baby, and golden retriever and it was just what we needed. We were able to walk to a coffee shop in the morning and drove to a nearby park. A pack n play was already there. We were only just passing through for one night on a road trip but it made us want to come back sometime to explore Pittsburgh some more. Thanks!

This is a very freshly remodeled space within minutes walking distance of great restaurants, shops, coffee and more. You're close to the mansions and tree-lined residential streets of Shadyside but also close to the hub of Oakland. I felt very safe coming and going at any time of day. Other reviews note this too, but I can't overstate how responsive and friendly Jake was with any needs we had (and the cleaning staff really came through for us when our dog escaped). The walls are a little thin, and you can hear noise from the other apartments in the building, but other guests were mostly respectful and it was nothing too disruptive. My mother in law with mobility issues was able to easily enter and exit the apartment from the street, and the large parking space out back was a treat we didn't see elsewhere. We loved staying here and would highly recommend!

There were a few small cleanliness details that could be improved. Parking was also a little tricky for our guests during the day, as street spots were limited, though one private spot in the back was included. Despite those minor issues, the space was comfortable and well-located!

If this place was in an hotel, you would expect to pay thousands per night for such accommodations. Everything in this apartment is fabulous. Every furnishing was beautiful. It was welcome respite after a long afternoon on the road. It was perfectly situated in a sweet neighborhood full of restaurants. We were able to accommodate the whole family easily. Only go to Jake’s if you want to ruin Air Bnb’s for yourself forever 😄 highly recommend!

It was very clean and centrally located with restaurants in walking distance. There’s a long hallway along which the bedrooms are located, so if you have someone who has trouble walking that might be a consideration, but overall it was a great place. Highly recommend.

Jake's apartment was exactly like the pictures. It was spotless and gorgeous! The space was perfect and I even felt comfortable walking around with no socks! We could only stay overnight and weren't there very long. We wished we could have stayed longer. I highly recommend this apartment and I'm sure any of Jake's places will be the perfect choice! Jake was super responsible and helpful. The ease of check-in and check-out was an added bonus!

This Airbnb is in a fantastic location in Shadyside; walkable to restaurants, groceries and shops. This particular unit is v accessible. My son had knee surgery at UPMC, we traveled to Pittsburgh for it and needed a first floor apt and this one worked out perfectly. The bedrooms have been designed for the utmost comfort - the beds are so comfy that it’s difficult to get up in the am. The living area is on the smaller side; however it is laid out well and has a great patio that it extends to. I was an early guest at this brand new property. As a result I found some issues. Jake is one of the most responsive hosts I’ve experienced, and he handled the issues with a sense of urgency. He and his team are committed to timely responses and action. Highly recommend!
