I liked the place, it was as described. It is in a peaceful area and walkable to restaurants and grocery store. A good deal if you are a family. Also, the best part was NO EXIT CHORES. I will return in future when in the area.

We had a great few nights here; beds were comfortable, space for the four of us to sit and visit, easy access for those of us with some mobility issues. Bedrooms were large, space in the living area to navigate. Especially appreciated the grab bars in the shower. Quiet neighborhood and street parking wasn’t a problem.

My friends and I booked this airbnb for a short girls' trip, and it was between "okay" and "good", so about 3.5 stars. We enjoyed the affordability, location, easy parking, and the beds were comfortable! However, the place needs some TLC. Ex: some stains on the walls, a hole in the closet door, the floor was sticky, the blender was missing, the bathroom sink wouldn't drain, some dirty dishes, and the bathroom couldn't air out because the vent was full of dust. On top of minor inconveniences, a few things didn't feel completely safe. The only lock is a keypad on the ground level/side of the building that's visible to the street/sidewalk. Window blinds were broken so you couldn't close them all the way. The two bedrooms each have doors that lead outside / to public spaces. I didn't contact Jake for assistance during our stay, but afterward I messaged him about our experience. He was professional and promised he and his team would attend to any issues. Overall decent stay!

Jake was a top notch host! He was very communicative, answered any and all questions within minutes. The check in and check out instructions sent were perfectly written so there wasn’t any question of what needed to be done. The apartment was lovely and the beds were the most comfortable I’ve slept in at a place aside from home. Will definitely book with Jake again in the future!

This rental unit is in a huge, beautiful old house in a great neighborhood! The office street parking costs extra, but is noice! There is also ample on street parking nearby. When we experienced issues with the property, Jake was quick to respond and make amends!

Jake’s place was very nice and comfortable! The apartment matched the pictures and contained all the amenities we needed. Jake was also extremely responsive and helpful in his communication ahead of check-in. Two noise issues to consider: 1) one bedroom is located right by the laundry room; during our stay a tenant started their laundry at 10:30 pm so we had difficulty sleeping. 2) We woke up at 2 am to the tenants above stomping around, which continued until 3 am. It was manageable with earplugs, but something to note for light sleepers!

Loved this place while I stay in Pittsburgh for work. I already booked again for a few weeks from now. It’s walkable for the Bloomfield area with lots of great food options and the place was comfortable.

Small older basement apartment. Needs some repair and updates. Living room was dusty above TV a film of dust and cobwebs. Bed room had door that opens to the street, didn’t feel very secure. Other bedroom has door to laundry and maintenance room so lots of activity and loud at times. Jake was very responsive but I wouldn’t choose this apartment again but possibly another listing.

We had a great stay! This place was fully stocked, 100% handicap accessible, and in a great location. The AC in the living room/ kitchen area was more than sufficient to keep us cool during the 95+ heat wave. Laundry is located on this level also. I’ve stayed at a lot of Airbnbs in Pittsburgh and this is a favorite by far.

Since the apt is a basement and it had been raining, it was musty and humid. Floors were sticky and towels felt damp. Jake’s team was quick to answer and apologized, but the stay wasn’t comfortable. Bathroom was a little dirty on arrival. Location was good.

Shadyside is a very nice neighborhood with numerous restaurants within walking distance. Definitely a good choice for anyone anyone looking to explore Pittsburgh.

We had a great stay at Jake's place and would love to stay again. The neighborhood is quiet and parking was easy to find. The apartment was very clean and comfy and we appreciated the ceiling fans in both bedrooms as there was a hot night when we were there. It was nice to have the coffee machine all set up although as tea drinkers, we missed having an electric kettle, but the stove worked fine for boiling water and there was a microwave as well. Jake was a fantastic communicator and answered messages quickly. The only thing to be aware of is that there is a bus stop right outside the window of the smaller bedroom, so whoever sleeps in there might want to use ear plugs if they sleep light. And while it is true that the people on the floor above get up early on week days (about 6 am), I don't agree with reviews that say they were heavy footed. It's just a common thing in multi-unit dwellings and not anyone's fault. Again, ear plugs are your friend when sleeping away from home!

We (family of four plus dog) were visiting family in Monroeville and this was the perfect home away from home for us. Conveniently located, very clean, easy to access the apartment so we could come and go as we pleased. Host was very responsive to our questions. Would definitely recommend and stay again in the future!

Jake’s home was pretty much as described. The beds were very comfy. With the heat, in order to keep the small living space warm, the bedrooms were almost unbearably hot. Jake is friendly and responsive for the most part. Only four towels were out for 6 people, found two more in a tote. We asked for more towels, since 6 towels for 6 people for 6 days wasn’t enough. He said sure, then didn’t bring them. When we asked again we were told he was doing us a favor by giving us an extra set of towels. Again- we were there for 6 days. Nobody wants to use the same towel for 6 days. There is a bit of road noise , but the kicker is the apartment above. They wake up and start stomping around about 6:30 in the morning, even on weekends. All in all, I would say this is great for a weekend stay for 4 or less. The floor looked fine, but would dirty our socks when walking on it. We did swiffer it with the mop left in the closet.

Jake’s place was very clean and easy to find. Jake was very responsive. The only negative was the noise from the tenants above. You could hear everything especially early morning.

Jake was a great communicator and always responded to my messages within 10 minutes. The location was convenient, with supermarkets, liquor stores, and other amenities nearby. The beds were comfy, and the price was reasonable for what you get. However, I did experience a few issues that were a bit disappointing: 1. While the unit is on the ground floor, it has a basement-like feel. The tenants upstairs have heavy footsteps, which can be quite noisy early in the morning. Additionally, street noise from cars was louder than expected. 2. The bedrooms were uncomfortably hot, even though we turned down the heat. 3. There were several minor to medium damages in the unit, including a tennis ball-sized hole in the closet door. When I mentioned it to Jake, he wasn’t aware of it. I’d recommend inspecting the place when you arrive and letting him know of any significant damage to avoid potential misunderstandings.

I really enjoyed my stay here. I wish I arrived to the property earlier in the day when it was still light just to make finding the place easier. The property is a large apartment building so I was a little confused trying to find the property as I didn't notice any marker for the specific apartment but only two doors face Friendship Ave so I had a 50/50 shot of which door was the correct door. The property itself is in the street level floor of the building, half underground and half above. The space was a little humid when I arrived (which is common for these types of properties) but after turning on the ventilation system it wasn't a problem. The bathroom was a little beat up but the rest of the rooms were spotless. Such a comfy bed. I would definitely recommend this space for the value and would look for any of this owner's properties when visiting PGH in the future. The owner had amazing communication and helped me with any questions/issues almost instantly.

This is a ground level / basement apartment. I think I missed it on the listing. Overall decently stocked and adequate stay. Close to Carnegie Mellon and good for people who need to drop off family. Worth the price and appreciate no cleaning fee.

Ons verblijf in de Airbnb van Jake was erg goed! Jake is vriendelijk en gaf ruim van te voren duidelijk instructies. Het appartement was wat moeilijk te vinden maar uiteindelijk op een prima locatie. Het appartement zit niet op loopafstand van de bezienswaardigheden maar zit in een rustig gelegen buurt (met de auto en het ov is alles prima te doen). De parkeergelegenheid was duidelijk uitgelegd en is uiteindelijk goed verlopen (gratis parkeren in de straat). Het appartement was precies zoals de foto’s. Het appartement was goed gekoeld (ideaal in deze warme zomerperiode🥵) en het appartement had voldoende voorzieningen. Al met al is deze Airbnb zeker aan te raden voor een korte pitstop tijdens een roadtrip of een dagje Pittsburgh!

Jake’s place is located in a quiet neighborhood. It is perfect for those traveling with a family. There is a school and a park in front of the house and lots of restaurants within walking distance. This was the absolute best ABNB experience I have ever had so far. Jake is a great host. He responds within minutes. Place is beautiful and clean & looks just like the pictures on the listing. Check-in is super easy with code. Jake was able to provide a reserved spot at the back of the building for a reasonable fee since I did not worry about figuring out street parking and street sweeping schedules. But you can street park if you want. No staircase to lug the luggage. All the rooms look updated. There is no super old ancient fixture anywhere. Everything looks like from the 2020s. Nice big powerful ac unit inside the house. Two extra tower fans on top of the bedroom having ceiling fans. Kitchen with fridge, cutlery etc. Pure Heaven.

It may be stated and I missed the information, but be aware there is no washer or dryer in the unit if you need one. Overall Jake’s place met our needs and expectations.

Jake’s listing was amazing! We stayed here for a concert at the university. It’s in an AMAZING neighborhood with walkable restaurants and shopping. The bedrooms came equipped with sound machines that made being in the basement unit a better experience. Coming back to the memory foam mattresses after being cramped and hot at the concert was great! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and now Pittsburgh will be a concert destination thanks to my stay with Jake!

It’s on a corner lot and Jake’s instructions for parking either on the road or behind the building were very easy to understand. He was very easy to communicate with and his responses were fast! He also was able to accommodate a later checkout for us, which we knew wasn’t guaranteed, but extremely grateful it worked out. Thanks again to him for everything and for being such a gracious host! Entry was the easiest that I've experienced, yet (you'll see). Definitely get the parking in the back; inexpensive and SO much easier. The appartment was modern, full functional, and quite comfortable. Jake always responded to my pre-, during, & post-trip questions very rapidly- professional, friendly, and helpful. The neighborhood is picturesque with several walkable eating and coffee options. Well located for getting quickly into the city propper.

The sheets on the beds were dirty, the bathroom was not clean and the pullout couch had food, crumbs and garbage underneath. The location was good with grocery stores nearby. The neighborhood seemed safe. But, I don’t believe my family and I would stay here again.

Location of this AirBnB was perfect, the beds and sheets were incredibly soft and comfortable, and Jake was very responsive and gave clear instructions. That being said, the unit smelled like cigarette smoke (unsure if it was a previous tenant or others in the building) and some soft surfaces (blankets, towels, etc.) smelled sour.

Comfortable and clean. Street parking available. Kitchen had pots, pans, and everything needed to eat in. Once we got the code figured out access was easy. Jake helped navigate entry and always responded quickly. I would stay again.

The stay was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The area was also very nice, walkable to restaurants. Large parking space in back made it very convenient. Jake was also very responsive and cordial.

The place was in a nice quiet neighborhood. Plenty of people out walking or walking their dogs. Felt very safe. I found a parking space right in front of the house. Parking on street did not seem to be an issue. There were plenty of spots. Inside was very nice, clean updated and decorated beautifully. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would definitely stay again. Jake was extremely responsive and provides a great house manual online that has all the house rules as well as numerous recommendations for places to eat and things to do and see. Wish all hosts took the time to do that. 5 stars for sure.

Great place near all that Shadyside area has to offer

Jakes place was very comfortable and perfect for the one night stay. There was six of us so two people were on the couch pull out. I would say it’s perfect for four people. The pullout couch bed wasn’t comfortable, but it worked for the one night. The beds were great! The parking was a little tricky since we had 2 cars. Had to pay extra for parking behind the house and then had to register other car to park on street. Jakes place was clean and tidy. If ever in Pittsburgh would stay there again.

Really appreciated the No cleaning fee. We are neat conscientious people and it was nice to be treated as such. Will look for other properties by Jake on our next visit.

This place was perfect for our Pittsburgh trip. The location is amazing. The spot is on the bus line and it was easy to get everywhere we needed to go. Coffee shops and grocery stores are within walking distance. Jake was helpful and responded immediately when I asked a question. The beds were very comfortable and the apartment had everything we needed to relax. I hopefully will be visiting Pittsburgh again soon and I plan to stay here!!

Name was a great host. He was swift to respond and all instructions were clear. Great location! Next to a park if you have children. Comfortable beds which allowed a great nights rest!

Had a little trouble finding the door. There was no number indicating it was the door. Other than that, check in was easy. The place itself was clean and had a very simple layout. The traffic isn’t too loud. You can easily hear noises and people walking upstairs though. We only spent a night so we weren’t bothered by it. The neighborhood was pretty quiet and safe. Overall, great stay and will stay again!

This place was a great place to stay for my short trip in Pittsburgh, the apartment is very clean and comfortable. The host is very responsive and would stay again. I don’t recommend this place to very light sleepers because the walls are very thin so you do hear the people upstairs and the water move through the pipes all night. It wasn’t a huge problem for us though, we easily could tune it out! Location was great, I’d stay again for sure.

The location is convenient and cozy! Nice friendly neighborhood. The apartment was clean and comfortable. Walking distance to everything, Bakery Square, Shadyside, Lawrenceville and Bloomfield. The host is very responsive and eager to please!!

We could not sleep well in this apartment at all. There was a constant noise of someone walking on top floor and running water pipes. The place is clean and location is good. Jake really needs to fix the sound from his other apartments. Overall, it left us with a bad experience due to plumbing/ shower/ washing machine noise from other apartments (Jake’s Airbnb) in same building

Jake's please was tidy, clean and reasonably well appointed. It was centrally located. The flexible check-in approach was great. I would not hesitate to stay again.

We had a great time staying here. The private entrance off Friendship Ave made getting in and out easy, especially when traveling with kids and all their added baggage! The available parking lot was great and reasonably priced.

Really nice place. Slightly busy corner with a bit of noise from traffic but was just like the photos, easy to get around and great place to stay.

Very clean and cozy

The apartment was just as advertised. Comfortable, clean, private, excellent parking space available for a nominal fee. Cons: if you are a light sleeper this might not be the right place for you. This Is an apartment building with very thin walls. We could clearly hear the conversations and furniture moving above us. One of the bedrooms is surrounded by outside walls so the car noise is heard. The pipes were also quite loud when water ran through them during the night as the heat kicks on.

Jake’s place was amazing. It was exactly as listed in the pictures located in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. It was on the ground floor, making it easy to bring all of my belongings inside. Everything was clean and neat. The beds were comfortable. I liked having a desk in the room as I was there for work and play. It allowed me to comfortably get work done. One of the nicest Primanti Bro’s is just a 10 minute walk away with half off drinks on the weekends from 9pm-11pm. I definitely took advantage of that. The neighborhood is safe to walk both day and night. Jake was very responsive and extremely friendly. I would 100% stay here again during my next visit to Pittsburgh.

We stayed here during the week while taking our teenagers on college tours in the Pittsburgh area. Jakes place was clean and easy to find and had everything we needed. Off street parking was easy and it’s located in a lovely neighborhood. There is some street traffic but otherwise a great option.

Our stay was excellent! The rental was perfect for our needs: a great location, parking, plenty of room, great amenities, and lots of nice touches like dishwasher detergent, soap, garbage bags, etc. that some rentals don't bother to stock. Our host was very helpful, prompt and great to interact with. We would definitely stay here again!

We thoroughly enjoyed the apartment. Peaceful surroundings, food markets close by, nice place to walk and enjoy the area. Very short drive to downtown, the zoo, the aviary, the museum of natural history and the ball parks. Depending on traffic, only 15 minutes to the Benedum. I've already recommended this unit to friends that are taking their little one to the theater for her birthday. I would most definitely stay there in the future.

This was our 2nd stay in one of Jake’s units- easy check in, comfy and clean apartments with great access to amenities, all the basic supplies for a homey feel & fun details that make the space feel cozy and unique! Easy keyless entry, many parking options. We travel with 2 kids & the access to laundry in this apartment is a big plus! As a bonus, there’s a playground nearby. Would absolutely stay here again :).

We really enjoyed our stay! Was extremely clean and exactly as listed.

This lovely 2 bedroom apartment is in a great location, in a safe family-oriented city neighborhood. The entry can easily be accessed by a wheelchair and the apartment has not steps. There is a tub and shower combo that is nice, but could be hard for a wheelchair bound person. But, if that is no a problem for you, this apartment is great!! It was clean, bright, neat, and I felt like I were really expected with lights, air conditioner, and fans running for a comfortable welcome. There was lots of prompt, friendly communication from Jake, and great parking for $10/day or $25 per week in the roomy parking area behind the house. There is free parking on the street, but I chose to pay to be sure to have parking near by. Roomy parking is unique in this city, and most hotels have either paid parking or street parking at your own risk. Both bedrooms had ample room for 2 people and comfortable beds. Little perks like white noise machines in the bedroom were a treat, even though the place isn't terribly noisy, I love to sleep with a noise machine, and these were good. There was just a little creaking from the apartment upstairs, early evening revelers walking outside, and an occasional loud vehicle passing by. Quite quiet by city standards. I would stay here again for sure!

Perfect place for a weekend getaway. The apartment is nice,clean, and comfortable. Check in is super easy. Location is great! We had a wonderful stay.

Great location and price… Decor was so nice inside and relaxing

Nice place but there are a number of issues about cleanliness and function. 1. Lack of airflow and air conditioning in the remaining two bedrooms other than the living room. Our main bedroom was warm and a bit stuffy. Possibly a 5-7 degree difference from living room. 2. Unlaundered bedroom sheets containing a collection of hair including pubic hairs. We have photos. 3. Soiled dish ware including hardened oatmeal upon the bottom of one coffee mug. 4. Uneven stovetop burners which could be cause for a hazard. 5. Main bedroom ceiling fan was also noisy. 6. TV needed speakers at the couch and not the TV set since the volume raised only traveled back up to the tenants above. 7. Heavy steps from the tenants above. 8. No recycling bin. 9. Bathroom shower curtains had smells of mildew and may not have an adequate fan exhaust.

The apartment is very nice, clean and comfortable! Location is very convenient and Jake was very helpful and friendly, he’s a great host!

This apartment is in a great location and is easily to access public transit or ride your bike. The bedroom are a nice size and have good closet space. Jake is very easy to communicate with and very responsive. I especially appreciated that towels, body wash, laundry detergent, and cookware were provided. This made our stay more enjoyable and convenient. Please note that this apartment is located on the ground floor. It is right on the street level so make sure you keep the doors locked (one of the bedrooms opens right on the street) for security purposes. You may also hear neighbors walking around upstairs which can be a bit annoying. I appreciated the white noise machines that Jake provided as this helped me sleep better. If I needed a place to stay in Pittsburgh again, I'd definitely stay again.

Host was great, with excellent communication. Lovely place and worked out well for my needs. While the location, looks, size, and physical comfort were all nice, there really are some downsides to point out. 1) the upstairs tenants, directly overhead, are as noisy a Irish cloggers with pet elephants, and that continued until wee hours of the morning on two weeknights 2) the A/C is only available in the seating/kitchen area, so one must sleep with bedroom doors open or overheat 3) the bathroom fan is so loud that one cannot use it while others are sleeping 4) adjacent to the back bedroom are coin operated washer and dryer for all the tenants of this building. Unfortunately tgese machines are in need of maintenance because the make loud noises while running. This is a significant problem if tenants do laundry late at night--which happened on one of our nights.

Very very clean, conveniently located in a quaint walkable neighborhood (coffee shops, bars) and great responsiveness from Jake. Perfect place to park for a visit to friends and family.

Great location and street parking was plentiful in a quiet/safe neighborhood. The apartment was just as described and Jake is an excellent host! He is super responsive to messages and provided us with recommendations for things to do on our trip. We went jet skiing on the Allegheny river with Steel City Jet Ski Rentals and it was the highlight of our trip!! Will definitely stay here or at one of Jake’s other properties next time I’m in PIttsburgh.

Super easy to get to, great location, close to pretty much everything you need. Clean, modern, and quiet. We needed a place to stop for the night, and we all agreed, we should come back and spend more time here.

A great place with spacious rooms. There were several electronic appliances as well like speakers and Alexa. The kitchen was very hygienic and fully stocked with utensils. Good location and a great host.

This place was nice, great location in Friendship, a good bar and restaurant down the street, and I never had to find a parking spot. The AC struggles on the hottest days but a supplemental unit was provided. Overall the place is great and was easy to book. Gripes below are minor. The main bedroom has a bright light outside that I couldn’t turn off and just a set of mini blinds, so if you’re light sensitive, bring something to cover it. If you’re over 6’2”, you’ll likely duck in the basement shower. There’s no cell coverage in the basement so have the WiFi password ready to go. The guy upstairs was addicted to something very smelly - not this place’s fault. Again, minor gripes. The reason to knock a star and bother posting at all is that the host proactively reached out multiple times to solicit a five, and only five, star review. I let him know the first time that was unprofessional, and he followed up with another request later on. It’s a nice place, but the reviews are astroturfed by the host when they don’t need to be.
