Spacious 2BR Penthouse Suite

Jake was extremely responsive as we were deciding on a place to stay. The place was very comfortable. The access does come with several steep steps to the 3rd floor, so I would not recommend for those that have mobility issues. The floors inside the unit are sloped so it feels a little off. There was some noise from downstairs tenants. Besides that everything was well appointed. Convenient location

Place was everything as described plus some. The host was fast and responsive. Definitely will be coming back in the future.

This is a lovely and spacious apartment inside. Everything was spotless and we appreciated all the complementary items including bath products, laundry, coffee, and a white noise machine. It’s located on a busy street that looks a bit industrial but it’s very well located to get around by car and if you walk just a block toward Shadyside you are in a nice residential neighborhood. We didn’t have any issues with street noise, either from the street or from the tenants downstairs. This is a great option for groups or families who want privacy but want a communal space to hang out too. The beds were also very comfortable! I put only 4/5 for value because I found it expensive, but the price was in line with hotels at the time of our trip, since there were Pitt and Steelers games happening (unfortunately for us).

Staying at Jake's place in Pittsburgh was an absolute pleasure! The unit was pristine, impeccably clean, and fully stocked with everything we needed. The space perfectly matched the photos and description, from the clean furniture to the thoughtful amenities. Jake is a fantastic host—friendly, incredibly quick with his responses, and he provided crystal-clear instructions for a seamless check-in and check-out. His flexibility made our stay even more relaxing. The central location is a huge bonus, putting us within easy reach of shopping, great restaurants, and local activities. Jake's space is spotless, renovated, brand new and very spacious. The bed was extremely comfortable and felt like memory foam, the linens were impeccable. The location is walking distance to an Aldi and Giant Eagle Marketplace. There are also good restaurants nearby walking distance. The noise from the street didn't bother me, but be aware that there is noise audible from the street due to the positioning of the apartment. The apartment is directly on top of a popular beer spot - It didn't bother me, but I just thought I would mention it for clarity. The space itself has all the listed amenities, streaming TV (don't even need to use your own account) and would be ideal for 2-4 people because it's so big! A+ stay thanks again Jake!

The apartment is spacious and comfortable. The location is great for visiting any of the attractions in the city, all of our destinations were within 2 miles. Jake is a helpful host and answered all of our questions promptly.

It was the perfect place for our family to gather while visiting our son at Univ of Pittsburgh and so nice that it is walkable to Walnut St area. We will be back.

I reserved this Airbnb and went into the unit but did not stay due to safety concerns. It is described as a penthouse, but it’s actually in a commercial building on the third floor above a package store, with no visible secondary fire escape. This important safety detail was not disclosed. The location also felt unsafe, which was especially upsetting as I was in town for my father’s calling hours and funeral. I believed I had done my due diligence in selecting a safe place to stay, but the unit did not meet basic safety expectations. I contacted Airbnb immediately, but was not offered a full refund. I encourage future guests to ask specific questions about building safety before booking.

Very nice apartment in a good location. Jake and his staff are very responsive. However, the AC wasn’t working during my visit. They tried to get someone to fix it several times, but I ultimately couldn’t stay there without functioning AC.

We had a great time at Jake's place. Super convenient having an Aldi and coffee shop across the road. also a super nice grocery store practically behind the place, just one street over. plenty of walkable restaurants too. The space is clean, and quiet. Unfortunately my parents are in their late 60's, so they didn't love the steep/narrow stairs to the 3rd floor apartment, but they made it. Only other complaint would be simply to have more hangers for towels or clothes in the bathroom, and bedrooms. everything else was great, and we really enjoyed our stay. We went to a pirates game, the zoo, Oakmont country club for the US Open, and the Heinz museum. None of them were more than 20 mins away!

My kids and I loved this place. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well thought out: The kitchen was spotless and had all the necessary appliances (coffee maker, blender, and toaster) and utensils. The living room sofa was super comfortable, as were the beds and pillows. The dining area was perfect for us 4. My children commented on the pretty decor. The place is 15-20 mins away from downtown Pittsburg and only a few minutes away from U of Pittsburg and Carnegie. We made the mistake of arriving through “the back” street which doesn’t look great but you can totally avoid that if you go through the front of the restaurant.

Jake's place is a hidden gem! The outside does not look like much, but once you get into the apartment, it is super clean and very spacious. The beds were very comfortable and the living area was open and relaxing. It is very centrally located and you can walk to various restaurants and coffee shops. The off street parking was an added bonus.

Stayed one night with my sister after dropping off my son at CMU. Jake’s place was conveniently located from CMU, and very clean. The location is great, too. We grabbed breakfast across the street before heading back home. Both my sister and I decided that we would definitely stay again!! We loved the apartment! The empty field visible along the narrow walkway to the entrance was alittle “interesting” and slightly uncomfortable. However, it wasn’t uncomfortable enough to discourage us from wanting to stay again! Definitely worth staying again!!

This is hands down the nicest Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in especially in Pittsburgh. So big and for the price??? 100/10 stars from me!!! Also, Jake and his crew were SUPER fast on responses, I mean the fastest responses I’ve ever had from a host (& no, the responses were not automated!) they were very helpful from beginning to end and were so great with accommodating an early check in (i did pay a SMALL fee tho, which I was totally fine with, especially because they really got me in early at the time I was requesting) It is up many steps to the 3rd floor but my sister and I didn’t have a problem with that but just be mindful of that if you’re wanting to book and not able to do a lot of steps. The free parking in the back was also a plus & check in was very very easy. Overall the place was literally fantastic and the only complaint (complaint? lol) I have is it wasn’t able to be booked for another day! lol kidding it’s not a complaint, but I would definitely book this place 100 times

Lovely apartment! Never too much of an issue with parking behind the beer store & was here for 2 months. The apartment can be a bit dark because the windows are high up and small but I was typically out working during the day anyways. Jake was very helpful with responding quickly when needed. Good place for catching buses downtown and close to many grocery stores/food!

The apartment is in a cute, safe neighborhood and was spacious enough for the entire family (2 adults 2 kids). Other details include: - The beds were comfortable - The kitchen had everything necessary to cook meals - There are grocery stores and coffee shops within walking distance - Nights were quiet - Parking was available at no charge. - We had access to a washer and dryer, which is always a plus when traveling as a family - The internet connection was robust and very fast - The shower was spacious and hot water was instant - The couch was very cozy. Great place to stay, centrally located for the different areas of the city I was visiting. Adjacent to a nice neighborhood including great coffee shop.

Jake's place was really great. Everything you want in an Air BnB. However, the best part is Jake himself! He was unbelievably responsive to our questions and needs (and at seemingly any hour!). I highly recommend Jake's place if you are ever visiting Pittsburgh.

We stayed at Jake’s beautiful spacious and comfortable apartment just for one night. My daughter graduated on Saturday the 21 and we needed a place to stay overnight to accommodate our group of 5 adults and a pet. After hours of driving from NYC we needed a cozy comfortable place to stay and Jakes’ apt was it. Is on the 3 floor and stairs are a good workout lol. Jake was super attentive and accommodating, I recommend his apartment. Beds were comfortable, sheets clean, kitchen and place with all it needs to make it a home feeling. Parking very accessible and private building entry. 10 out of 10. Thanks Jake, best of luck.

Our experience staying here was excellent. Jake did a great job simplifying the check-in/entry process. We had zero problems. The place was clean, spacious, and cheery, with really comfortable beds. :) Would definitely recommend!

Jake was incredibly responsive and easy to work work. He was accommodating to our last minute requests for a longer stay and worked with us attentively when there was a hiccup. The apartment was so cute and spacious. We knew it was a pet friendly apartment and there was some dog fur on the couch and that's it. Having pets I know how insane it would be to ask for a pet friendly place with no fur on any of the furniture.

The penthouse was just as pictured! Very clean, nice decor and very cozy! Lots of food options within walking distance, a coffee shop right across the street and even a grocery store on the corner. Great location! Took us about 20 minutes to get to Acrisure Stadium (with heavy traffic) if you’re in town for a game. Perfect! Jake is an amazing host!

Beautiful place

Jake’s place surpassed all our expectations and it is probably the best Airbnb we have stayed in Pittsburgh so far! The beds are wide and comfy, the sofa was so nice and everything was clean, free of clutter. The location was nice and quiet with plenty of parking space. The kids loved it and this experience made us fall in love with Pittsburgh.

Jakes place was great for my buddy and I's yearly boys trip to see the Steelers. We love the neighborhood and walk ability to restaurants and bars. MARIOS East Side is our favorite.... only 15 min walk. Ritter's Dinner is the spot for breakfast, let's than 15min away. Jakes spot was well kept and the beds are amazing.

I had a wonderful stay at Jake's place! The room is clean, cozy, and well-maintained. It has everything I need for a comfortable stay. What really stands out to me is the host's responsiveness. He was quick to reply to my messages, always helpful, and made sure I had everything I needed throughout my visit.

We enjoyed our stay at Jake's apartment. It is well located with plenty of parking. The unit is spacious with comfortable beds and furniture. The host was communicative and friendly. The kitchen was described as a "fully equipped culinary haven," but we found that it didn't have many pots, pans, or other cooking items. There was also some dirty dishes and silverware in the dishwasher when we arrived. These were small issues that didn't detract much from our experience. I would still highly recommend this listing and I would stay again!

The apartment is spacious and comfy. The kitchen is fine and well equipped. The living room and dining room are comfortable and both bedrooms and the bathroom are large with plenty of space for clothes. Everything inside was squeaky clean. We were on a weekend and didn't hear any noise, even though there is a liquor store on the ground floor of the building. There is a good supermarket in less than two blocks. It takes a 15 minutes drive to get downtown. We did enjoy the stay and visited the Museum of Natural History, Andy Warhol, the Incline and a gem that few people are familiar with: the bicycle museum: all in a relatively short drive from the apartment. Two minor issues: the vacant lot next to the building and the entrance make you feel in the wrong place although the neighborhood is safe; and the stairs from the street to the apartment were dirty.

The place is nice, spacious, and comfy. The pictures of the airbnb matches the space. Location is convenient with multiple bus stops and food places nearby. Kitchen is mostly equipped too with utensils, Brita, spices/seasoning, and cleaning supplies. However, there were some hairs and stains/crumbs in the bedsheets and towels, which felt dirty. The door to get inside the airbnb building got jammed and we didn’t get a responsive message from the host until much later. Luckily, we got in as another tenant was leaving. The building hallway also has a strange smell to it that wasn’t quite pleasant.

Apartment was easy to find…within 15 mins of everything we had planned. Beds were very comfortable, bedrooms were big and host was very responsive, helpful and friendly! Place was clean and perfect for the weekend with two couples! Only negative was having to go up 3 flights of narrow stairs to get up to apt and immediate area is an up and coming area so needs some work but there is a great coffee shop across the street!

The place looked just like the pictures - the king beds were incredible. “The penthouse” is really just the 3rd apt on the 3rd floor above a beer shop in friendship- which was across from aldis so not a horrible location and a hop skip and jump away from Shadyside. But I wouldn’t recommend this part of town - kind of sketchy. Unfortunately our AC was wonky and the thermostat had some trouble- they didn’t have fans and my closet didn’t have a rail so I could not hang my clothes for an event I came for- again I think the guest before me possibly just broke them- so not Jake’s fault/ but I didn’t have a closet in my room. Beautiful air bnb in an OK part on the edge of bad neighborhood.. I wouldn’t feel safe by myself at night.

Second time staying in this home. It’s very accommodating. Very close to the colleges and any place you want to go in the city. Our host was amazing, respectful and responded very quickly to any questions. We would definitely stay in one of Jake’s place again.

Excellent top floor apartment (you have to be willing to climb stairs). Apartment was very clean. The beds were super comfy. The location was perfect with a nice coffee shop directly across the street. Jake was super receptive to messages. We needed a place to stay while moving our daughter into Pitt, and this location was less than two miles from the school, so it was perfect.

Jake's place had everything we needed and accommodated our family well. We especially loved the giant sectional couch and super comfy mattresses!

We were lucky to find this Airbnb at the last minute, and it exceeded our expectations. The location, right above Friendship Beer (Liquor Store) is fantastic—perfect for exploring the area. The space is extremely spacious, giving us and our pup plenty of room. Jake, was very responsive and provided great recommendations for places to check out nearby. We would definitely book here again and highly recommend it if it’s available!

Great stay for a family!

This place is great… far more spacious than the photos do it justice and impeccably clean. Jake is very quick to respond and always with plenty of information. We were using it as a base to visit friends so didn’t explore the area on foot but there was coffee, beer, groceries and a pharmacy right there. Definitely recommend.

Great place to stay. It's a 3 flight walkup but worth it. It's quiet, nicely decorated and comfortable. Parking is shared with patrons of the Friendship beer Company but did not prove to be a problem during our visit.(We had 2 cars). There is not excess silverware, dishes and pots, just enough to make a simple meal. I preferred that as there are less dishes to wash. Great little gem for a quick stay in the Burgh

We really enjoyed our stay here! Both bedrooms are good sized and the kitchen looks like it has been remodeled. Jake responded extremely quickly and provided us with local recommendations!!! There is a coffee shop literally right across the street along with a small grocery store which came in handy. The bathroom needed a little work and the stairs were a task but we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here again!

I can usually find something that could be more clean, but not at this place. Every detail was perfectly thought out and amazingly comfortable. Clean and spacious place. Just as pictured.

This rental was easy to find, affordable, comfortable, and looked just like the pictures! My fiancé and I enjoyed the area as it was right across from a coffee shop and close to downtown areas. The beds were a 5 star rating in themselves with the memory foam mattresses and we loved the fact there were fleece blankets as an option separate from the comforter/bedding. Also that there were white noise machines in both rooms! We were very happy with how dog friendly this rental was, and close to a park for the dogs. You could slightly hear the guests in the rental below us, but wasn’t too bad. If there’s anything I’d note is the shower was a bit slippery and it’s definitely a hike up 3 flights of stairs to get to the rental! We will definitely stay again though!

Stayed for 2 nights as we were in town for a concert. My fiancé is a Pittsburgh native so we were already familiar with the area, but for those who aren’t - decent location and can walk to a lot of quick bites and coffee shops. Yinz is conveniently across the street. Across from an Aldi as well. Space was clean and comfortable! Two big beds - would be perfect for two couples. Big comfortable couch. Multiple places to set up shop if you need to work from home. Only caveat is it is a walk up so if you’re older or can’t do stairs, I wouldn’t recommend. But for those who can - not bad at all.

Jake was very communicative and responsive from beginning to end. The apartment was great and truly spacious. We would stay there again!

The space was very nice. The inside of the unit was clean and decorated well. There are a LOT of stairs up to the 3rd floor. Even though I knew when I booked this place that it was a walk up, I really underestimated how taxing it was for me. The unit is above a liquor store so there are a lot of patrons around. If that’s not your vibe then you might want to look elsewhere. I didn’t like the parking situation. I felt like my car was unsafe. Other than the parking and the stairs, we had an excellent time and the space was very beautiful.

Because of personal circumstances beyond my control, I had to contact Jake a lot both before and during my stay. He was patient, helpful, and quick to respond. The space was flawless and I felt very safe as a woman traveling solo. At one point, another unit hadn't adhered to the listed quiet hours, and Jake handled it quickly. I'd recommend Jake and stay with him again!

The check in process was easy and parking was on site. Lots of resturants and shopping within walking distance. However, the apartment required many repairs (i.e. broken fixtures, towel rack, shower door would not stay closed, exposed outlets). Upon arrival, we needed to clean the apartment before settling in due to food crumbs on couch, floor, and kitchen counter. There was body hair in the bathroom on the floor and wall fixtures. Several stains on walls and wet towels on bed. Host was responsive and friendly when we outreached regarding issues.

Our stay at Jake's listing was perfect, exactly what we needed for the week. Everything was clean and in a great location that was walkable to a grocery store, coffee shops and restaurants. Jake was a fantastic host and was very accommodating to everything and was responsive and very easy to get in contact with. I would definitely recommend staying here no matter what length of stay you are in town for!

Jake was a wonderful Airbnb host, he is very responsive and helpful and this Airbnb definitely lives up to the photos and the description! We had a great time and if we come back to Pittsburgh we will consider this Airbnb again! Thanks Jake!

Absolutely Beautiful. I loved that it was clutter free! There is so much stuff at home it’s nice to go someplace that is so neat and tidy. Our 19 year old begged us to book again so she can be there next time and act like royalty!

Jake was super responsive, friendly and helpful. The property felt new and clean and the location was excellent. What stood out was that there wasn't an expectation to do things like throw out the trash, put the dishes away, etc., which has become typical at Airbnb's, so that was nice.

Jake’s home was absolutely perfect. The home looks just like the pictures, is super clean and has everything you could need and is in a perfect area with lots of food and stores.

Great place highly recommend in the pgh area

The place looks great and was very comfortable. However, it’s a major turn off when you discover someone else’s hair all around the place. It makes you question the level of cleanliness. My money has already spent and I got in too late to find another place but we had to sleep with a person blanket as a barrier between us and the bed linen. My suggestion is to definitely always switch out linens, to shampoo the rugs, and dust mop.

Place was updated and decorated beautifully. Clean and comfortable. 3rd floor, so lots of steps but not a problem. Beds are huge and comfortable. Pillows are amazing. Sofa and rugs are cozy. Love renting from Jake!

Jake was a wonderful host! He communicated everything very well and ensured that we had a lovely stay. The AirBNB itself was definitely one of our favorite stays that myself and other guests have had. Everything was so organized, cleaned and it truly felt like home. We would recommend to anyone who decides to visit the area in the future and know if we ever need to go back, that we have a comfortable place to stay at! Thank you for everything Jake!

The apartment was exactly as it looks in the pictures. It's very recently renovated. It's a nice, big place, and Jake was an excellent host. He was very responsive and attentive throughout my stay.

Jake is seriously the best host. We had some issues with the door to get in but jake was amazing with trying to help us figure it out and responded so fast when needed. Since we had some issues, we also gave us a partial refund because of it. I would recommend this place and this host a million times over!!
