I chose this unit primarily because of its location, the nearby amenities, and the fact that it is new construction. We were in Pittsburgh for my daughter’s move back to college, so we were traveling with five very heavy suitcases and my 80-year-old mother. Unfortunately, I was not aware that the unit required climbing seven flights of stairs until the morning of our arrival. At that point, I had no choice but to arrange a separate hotel room for my mother, and we had to leave most of our suitcases in the car because there was simply no practical way for me to carry the heavy luggage up seven flights of stairs. While the unit itself was very nice and located in one of the best areas, the stairs were a significant inconvenience and materially affected our stay. Had I known in advance that there was no elevator and that accessing the unit required seven flights of stairs, I would not have booked this property. I strongly believe this limitation needs to be disclosed much more clearly

Enjoyed our stay at Jake's penthouse! The place was exactly as pictured. Beds were comfortable. Bathrooms equipted with shampoo/ conditioner/ wash. Kitchen had everything we needed. Also, the neighborhood was very walkable- we walked to dinner most nights, enjoyed the local coffeehouse, and could pop in the car to quickly get to WF or Trader Joes (etc.). The steps to the 4th floor were exactly as described and worth it to us for a top floor unit. Would stay again!

Immaculately clean, spacious and beautifully furnished apartment (exactly as pictured). Located in a walkable neighborhood near lots of shops and restaurants. Best part of our stay was the host. Jake was an exceptional communicator - professional and responsive - who went out of his way to ensure we were taken care of, from beginning to end!

If you’re up for the hike up the stairs, this place was beautiful inside, very clean, especially the bathrooms and kitchen. One of the showers even has a waterfall head and jets. Two spacious balconies and close to tons of great places to eat and things to do. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who can do stairs.

We had a perfect stay at Jake's place for a university visit. The apartment was stylish, very clean, comfortable and in a great location! There are so many wonderful restaurants and shops within walking distance. The Shadyside neighborhood itself is beautiful and we felt very safe walking day and night. We will absolutely stay here again when in Pgh!

I highly recommend this Airbnb everything about it was awesome it has two balconies one balcony is in the master bedroom the first bathroom shower when I say awesome I mean awesome it has so many different shower heads massage your neck and back and waterfall on your head I mean awesome the second bathroom shower was just as awesome but the tub was big enough to soak in it the toilets were hand free censored don't have to touch nothing to flush there coffee and tea set up is awesome healthy tea healthy sugar for your coffee like just awesome very clean private and quiet peaceful it has a water picture with the filter on it ice and water maker refrigerator dishwasher like I fell in love we extended it like two times that's how much we loved it

my day was awesome the unit is beautiful too bathrooms the first bathroom shower awesome second bathroom shower awesome with a tub the toilets are hands-free awesome coffee and tea section healthy tea creamer and sugar amazing both balconies amazing views awesome I love everything about this place pizza place restaurants all walking distance no problem with parking in the front or back perfect spot to come get away and relax really relax the kitchen awesome use the stove and it as to log into my phone awesome fully stocked with dishes pots and silverware even had seasoning and healthy oil the rooms was nice size spacious beds comfortable blankets and sheets feel awesome yeah this place is more then five stars to me my opinion

Great location next to many delicious restaurants and coffee shops literally downstairs on the next street! We were easily able to check in early for $50, this was helpful as we need to put our little one down for a nap. Def would stay here again.

The location was great and the space was perfectly decorated, and very clean. The bedrooms are large, the beds comfy, and the bathrooms modern and spotless. Jake and his team were friendly and responsive, and checkout was a breeze. There are a lot of stairs, but that was very clear in the listing, and being on the top floor gave us beautiful views that made the climb up worth it. The balconies were so great to have, and we loved sitting outside on the couch outside in the morning drinking coffee and enjoying the view! I would absolutely recommend this place and would definitely come back here again!

lovely place to stay. lots of space. well furnished and homey. lots of places to eat nearby. very comfortable beds and grateful to have netflix available on the TVs for a chill evening. would definitely stay again. fair warning: not suitable for anyone that would struggle with 4 flights of stairs i.e. disabled, elderly, or injured folks. would definitely stay again.

My family stayed at Jake’s Airbnb with my young child. Although the location was great, a parking spot was provided, and the host was generally responsive, we unfortunately had a disappointing experience. On the first night, we encountered many bugs not only in the main bedroom—including some in the bed—but also in the hallway and the smaller bathroom. We contacted the host right away. While they did respond, they failed to provide any meaningful resolution. Additionally, the refrigerator had a strong, unpleasant odor, and the ceiling fan was not working, which added to the overall discomfort. Our follow-up request for compensation took several days to receive a response. After involving Airbnb, we were offered $200, which we did not feel adequately addressed the situation or the lack of timely support. Overall, the issues were not handled with the urgency or care we expected.

Squeaky clean, ultra modern, super comfortable and delightfully spacious - a true gem! Easy access, great neighborhood and Jake was a great communicator.

Lots of steps to get into the place but your oura ring will thank you and totally worth it when you get there! Clean, spacious, comfortable and ideal location. Parking was a breeze and incredible restaurants just steps away. I don’t know why we always stayed in hotels while visiting our Carnegie Mellon daughter when this place exists. 10/10.

Arrived at apt after an 18hr day at work to find no parking for trucks. They say street parking but there aren’t any openings big enough for a F350. Also day of arrival instructions say must climb 7 flights of stairs to get in. Sorry not carrying bags up 7 flights of stairs. I requested even a partial refund since we couldn’t stay and the listing doesn’t say no parking for trucks and they wouldn’t do anything so here we are. If you drive a truck find somewhere else.

We had a lovely stay at Jake's penthouse. The apartment matched the pictures, everything is new and clean and very comfortable. We are a family of 3 and it was the perfect amount of space. Our 12 yo loved that his room had a tv! Communication with Jake was seamless. The location is great as well. Close proximity to coffee shops, restaurants, groceries. And of course, a great vibe altogether. Highly recommend Jake's place!

Jake was very accommodating and responded extremely quickly! The steps were manageable and the building was quiet. If it was 20 degrees warmer the balconies would have been wonderful! There was plenty of hot water and the beds were very comfy! I would definitely visit again! Jake was a great host!

This is our third time staying at one of Jake’s properties. I always thought his property looks great and feels very comfortable. It was easy to communicate with him too. We left our AirPods at the Airbnb, but we were able to get notified early to retrieve them.

If I ever come back this is where I would stay ! This place is AMAZING ! Super clean and modern. The beds, super comfy. Made me not wanna go home ! Loved my stay. When they say they’re available 24/7 they mean 24/7. I will definitely book again with him when I’m in town.

Jake was super friendly and responsive. We were even able to check in about 90 minutes earlier than expected. The location is fantastic. Lots of restaurants, shop, and cool vibes all around. Very walkable.

We've found our new favorite air bnb in Pittsburgh! This is truly a hidden gem and I almost don't want to share details because I want to keep this place all to myself! First off the place was easy to find and in a great location! Many local shops and restaurants all within walking distance! Secondly the Place was immaculate, with all the amenities of home! 2 full size bathrooms and 3 generous bedrooms! And you can't leave out the fact it has not one but two balconies! I know I'm leaving aout details but there are so many I can't think of them all so please look at the description because it's spot on! And thanks again to Jake for hosting us he was awesome during a difficult time for us and his kindness and sincerity was greatly appreciated!

Jake’s place was beautiful, it accommodated my family of 6 perfectly. It was exactly like the pictures, Jake is responsive, friendly and easy going. The master bedroom and bathroom was super cold, the other rooms were nice and toasty. It was a cold weekend and the master’s patio was covered in snow so It made the room super cold. Little hiccups we had, Jake had it taken care of with no issues. So I would recommend his place and I would go back (without kids though). Jake wasn’t lying about the stairs 😫😂

The apartment is tastefully decorated with great attention to detail. With 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, it was nice to have some personal space and not be on top of each other. The beds were super comfortable and despite visiting when it was extremely cold, we had no issues with the temperature throughout (heating seemed to be coping well). Check-in instructions were detailed and clear and Jake was very responsive when we had questions. We really enjoyed the location as there were great cafes, restaurants and bars within walking distance. Would definitely come back if we are in town again.

This is the second time I’ve stayed in this building; the first stay was great. This stay missed the mark completely on cleanliness. 2 of the 3 beds had mysterious hairs (one was just a single hair), and one of those two had a noticeable stain in the sheets and at least 4 long hairs on the pillows. Immediately contacted him and he assured me that the manager has been on-site that day and that all sheets had been laundered and that the hairs were perhaps from the dryer and said that I could choose to rewash them as he didn’t have anyone on site. I don’t care how they arrived but it’s a hard no for me. The next day, I would have expected a follow up or any offer to switch the sheets perhaps, but he did provide a very small refund (I didn’t ask for one). Also the stove had a broken handle and there was a pile of mystery debris on the couch arm and the flooring was dirty. May have been a bad day for cleaner but this is unacceptable. Lock also didn’t work upon checkin.

Jake’s place was absolutely wonderful. An excellent location right in the Shadyside neighborhood, and the apartment was clean and spacious. Jake shared all the important information in a timely manner and also responded quickly to any inquiries we had. Do make sure, however, to take Jake’s note about the four flight walk up seriously! Would definitely stay there again if we have the chance.

This is the second time we have stayed at one of Jake’s properties and will continue to book with him. He is super responsive and has beautiful properties in perfect locations. The penthouse is spacious, clean, and updated. Very happy with our stay!

Well-designed 3 bdrm, 2 bath, 2 balcony unit. Attractive interior decoration. Excellent host.

Hosts were responsive. Apartment was clean and convenient. The location worked perfectly for us. 4th floor without an elevator means carrying suitcases and everything up many flights of stairs, which is not convenient. The balcony was great for late night chat and music sessions. Kitchen met our needs very well (we did not cook, but kept breakfast supplies in the fridge). Having coffee available in the morning was a nice touch. Appliances (dishwasher, washer, dryer, kettle, stove, microwave, A/C, coffee pot) all worked well. Front door needed the code to be entered twice before it would open... a bit confusing. All in all, things went very well and we were comfortable and enjoyed the stay.

Excellent stay, modern and convenient. Parking issues but that is expected in Pittsburgh and hosts dealt with issues quickly. Only mentioning so folks know to be prepared but also know host will absolutely take care of you!!! Can’t wait to stay here again on my next trip home!!

Went to Pittsburgh with friends for a concert. Great place, walkable part of town, pristine bathroom, kitchen and bedrooms. Wide variety of restaurants and bars. Very walkable. Felt like it was our own place for the time we were there and check-out was one of the simplest and easiest as the guest. Recommend highly!

This was a large and beautiful apartment in a very desirable location. Great for a family or group of friends. Jake was very nice and helpful. I didn’t have any issues and really enjoyed my stay. I would definitely recommend this apartment and I hope to stay there in the future.
