Stunning 4-story Home | Sauna | Parking | Walkable

We had three generations in this home (ages 4-67) and the space worked great for us. We came from different directions and had 4 vehicles. We were able to park 3 in the driveway and street parking was free for the last car. The kids really enjoyed the game room. There was not a place for all 10 of us to gather in one room but with the open dining/living room we always felt connected. The kitchen is a bit sparse but we did minimal cooking. The bathroom locations were a concern going in but it all worked out fine once we found a good fit for everyone. The yard is small but typical for city living. Our son brought his dog and I always felt safe walking him around the neighborhood. We walked to several businesses and restaurants and the Giant Eagle next door was a great bonus! I wouldn’t hesitate to return if we’re ever meeting up in Pittsburgh again.

Jake's apartment was really beautiful, clean, and spacious. My children loved the downstairs game room with the air hockey table, and the deck was a wonderful bonus. Jake was extremely responsive. I had an issue after 10 PM one night (entirely of my own making), and Jake was very helpful and kind in his response. The apartment is next to a grocery store and easily walkable to Ellsworth and Walnut!

Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The location was excellent, with good walkability and convenient access to the surrounding area. The host was also very responsive and easy to communicate with, and we especially appreciated the simple checkout process—there were no additional chores or duties required before leaving. The home appeared to have been cleaned properly, and we felt the cleaning team did their job. However, the overall maintenance and condition of the property were slightly lacking. There were several noticeable issues, including holes in the walls, dirty carpets and rugs, an unfinished/non-flushed vent, and missing tiles. These appeared to be maintenance and upkeep issues rather than a reflection of the cleaning service. We really wanted to give this stay 5 stars, it just barely missed the mark. With some attention to the property’s maintenance and repairs, this could easily have been a 5-star experience. Pros: location, communication, and hassle-free checkout.

Our family had a lovely stay at Jake's place during a graduation weekend. The location is wonderful - convenient for walking and driving, with parking for 3 cars out back (note: the driveway angle is tight and may require maneuvering for longer vehicles/SUVs). The bedrooms and beds were as shown. We were able to host a family meal using a catering service arranged through Airbnb (highly recommend Flavorful Food Presentations by Roxanne's Catering!). The kitchen is clean and well stocked for simple meals, but not equipped for full cooking (no baking dishes or sheet pans). The washer and dryer made it easy to refresh towels and linens during our stay. Note that the gathering spaces may feel snug at maximum occupancy. We had a few housekeeping and maintenance issues that Jake resolved immediately, and the house was very clean where it counts — kitchen, bathrooms, and beds. None of this detracted from our stay. The house was perfect for our needs and made our Pittsburgh weekend stress-free

I really enjoyed my time at this house. The neighborhood is conveniently located and makes it easy to get to a bunch of tourist attractions. The house has the little things you need - soap, dishwasher tablets, detergent - to make sure you can settle in. (Though it is still helpful to have a large supermarket next door.) The communication from Jake and co. was extremely responsive. The house did need a little TLC, but most things inside were functional and pleasant to look at.

We had a lovely stay here; it is well situated with a grocery store and coffee shop steps away. It is an easy to walk to key restaurants and sites (10 minutes to Shadyside and 20 to Carnegie Mellon). The house has very comfortable beds, well stocked kitchen, cozy living room and nice outside sitting area.

Great: perfect size for 4 adults, 2 kids, and 2 small dogs. Ample space to park, hang, eat, sleep, and prep for the day without being crowded. Furniture and beds were comfortable. Area was quiet but close to food and grocery options. Close to the city (within 15 min) without noise or heavy foot traffic. We unexpectedly lost water due to nearby construction and Jake provided a second property for us to use for showers on a couple hours notice, total life saver! Not as great: broken towel racks, burnt out light bulbs, missing TV remote, stains on rugs/carpets, dirty deck furniture, broken stair rails, broken garage door, dart board dangling off the wall. Not deal breakers, but I would have given 5 stars if these things were addressed. Note: We shared the bathrooms attached to our bedrooms with our kids. If any adults had to stay in the 1st or 4th floor bedrooms, they would have had to go through an occupied bedroom to get to a full bathroom, which may be a challenge for some groups.

Great place to stay for 5!

House was perfect for our stay, clean, with tasteful decor. Due to the nature of our small group (not all couples), we had to utilize the sofa as a bed and it was huge and comfy. We also really appreciated the large parking space in the back. The only negatives if I had to pick something was that we were unable to use the propane because the tank was empty. They were not able to get us another but offered to reimburse if we wanted to go get one. It was ok, we just cooked inside. And as an ambiance person, I wanted to replace the deck lights, as only a small segment of the total strip was working. Some of the towel bars/ toilet paper holders were missing/broken but overall, small inconveniences and easy fixes. Jake was a great communicator and I'd stay again!

Jake's place was a great location and good space for our family. It was close to restaurants and very clean. We were very happy to have off-street parking in this neighborhood, too!

Me & my family had to come back home for a family emergency and we loved this location because everything we do is on the East side of Pittsburgh. The fact that the grocery store is literally just walk over was even better for my family. There were alot of steps but it wasn’t too bad. If we ever come back home we would stay here again.

Wow! This house was amazing! 1. Easy to find. 2. Host was very prompt in getting back to my messages. 3. Comfortable 4. Clean! 5. The house had everything you could need to make your stay more enjoyable. I could go on and on but bottom line is this place was well worth the money and I will definitely be staying here or at another property he owns.

Although my guests were not ideal I have nothing bad at all to say about the host was very respectful the whole time very much appreciated

Very beautiful home in Pittsburg! Very close to downtown and many restaurants/bars. Reached out to see if they could accommodate extra guests - was assured there was enough space but there definitely was not. Reached out about propane for the grill - was assured there was propane and it was empty upon arrival. There are also strangely almost no utensils in the home - I’m talking like maybe 6 spoons which is odd seeing the home is available for more guests… we enjoyed our stay for sure but there were some issues too.

Very roomy and very well stocked rental. It was really refreshing to stay somewhere that had plenty of the basics and the place is nicely decorated too. Little touches made the experience even better like: nice hand soaps, plenty of toilet paper/paper towels/ trash bags, shampoo/conditioner/body wash, tons of games (air hockey, darts, cornhole), laundry detergent, clorox wipes. Some of the towel holders and toilet paper holders were broken, but the place isn't neglected so I am guessing they were low quality and people are rough with them. outside of that tiny detail nothing else stood out. Very clean- ample parking which is a struggle in this area of town. My kids played in the garage nonstop with all the games.

A beautiful, very clean, well stocked home with comfortable furnishings in a convenient location. We especially appreciated being able to travel with our dog. A great place that we would both recommend and use again.

It was a very spacious and clean home for myself, my wife and 4 children. It’s a beautiful home within walking distance of numerous grocery stores and local food spots. It was the perfect home for our weekend

Jake's home was beautiful, well cared for, and clean with great appliances. We stayed with family over Thanksgiving and did lots of cooking so it really helped to have a great set of knives.

We had a fantastic stay at Jake's place with our dog! Plenty of room, driveway for parking, and the sauna was great too! The location is ideal, easy walkability to restaurants, the grocery store, and the public bus system. Jake was also very responsive and communicative. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Pittsburgh!

The location is great. It feels like a little neighborhood street, but if you cut through the Market District parking lot you are right on a main thoroughfare and the Busway is less than a 5 minute walk away. There is a private driveway which is nice, if a bit of a challenge to get out of. Street parking is also available. The house feels new and the kitchen is really nice. It had all the basic utensils that I needed. it's also huge with bedrooms well separated from each other. My daughter liked it enough to ask if she could have her 16th birthday party there (no). Jake and his team are extremely responsive and respectful in their communication.

Jake was an excellent host, very good communication. The house is in a great location and literally steps away from the supermarket and restaurants. The kitchen had everything we needed, including coffee! The beds were super comfortable . A couple of bath fixtures have to be fixed, but nothing major. We would stay here again and feel comfortable recommending to other people.

Jake has always been super flexible and responsive. The location is also great ... near retail, universities, easy to get to highways, etc. Nothing was more than 10 min drive. Jake's place was an excellent find in pittsburgh. It's nicely tucked away on a side street, most of shadyside is a short walk away and easy access to the North Oakland neighborhood as well. Included parking is a major boon in Pittsburgh too.

The place was located ideally in Shadyside. It was an easy walk to Carnegie Mellon University or Pittsburgh University Walnut Street was like a five minute walk from the house and had a lot of restaurant options.

We really enjoyed our stay at Jake's house and will be coming back. Jake was a great host ... always responding quickly and managing any requests we had. The house was as very comfortable for our family and convenient (<10min drive) to any place we wanted to go.

Jake's place was the perfect location for our needs during Pittsburgh. We needed to be near the U of Pitt campus and it was within a 2 mile walking distance so we didn't need to drive and worry about parking at times. The house is also located next to a large grocery store which made it very convenient to get our groceries for the week as well as last minute items without having to drive. There are very tall trees that separate the house from the parking lot so privacy was never an issue. The house was clean and beautiful. Jake was a great host and always responded to my questions/concerns within 1-2 hours. We would definitely book Jake's house again if we were to return to Pittsburgh. Thanks for a great stay Jake!

Jake was very responsive and communicative and was a fabulous host to work with. The place is in a great location walkable to many great restaurants, as well as the grocery store and bus system. While we did not have the need to really cook at the given the location, it was not fully equipped with all that would be needed if you plan on cooking meals.

This particular Jake's place was great. My family felt at home. I think it was a well thought through project; very inviting and peaceful to stay. It was very clean and well maintained. We appreciated the dishes and silverware, as well as other items located in the house. Would stay again!

This is an ideal rental for visiting the Oakland, Shadyside and Squirrel Hill neighborhoods in Pittsburgh. The house is comfortable, clean, well-equipped and extremely livable. The host Jake is most gracious and responsive. Parking, on or off street, is convenient, and the house is perfectly situated on a quiet, tree-lined cul-de-sac only steps away from the Market District supermarket.

This house was beautiful and spacious. We unfortunately stayed in the winter so we didn’t get to enjoy the balconies but they looked beautiful! The house is about a block from a grocery store, multiple coffee shops and restaurants. Jake was very communicative and accommodating. We will definitely look to stay in this or one of his other places the next time we are in town.

Great place to stay with a large group. The living space being separated from the bedrooms was helpful for those who wanted to stay up later and not bother others who were sleeping. Only 4 stars since we were short on towels. Jake was very responsive and had towels delivered, but I was not notified about their delivery—thus meaning we had no idea until it was no longer helpful.

We stayed in this house with a large group and it was able to easily accomodate all of us. We had a few issues with getting the heat set properly, but Jake was responsive and offered solutions. Walkable neighborhood & convenient location, and we appreciated being able to bring the dogs with us on our trip. Would stay here again.

Our family stayed here when we attended our daughter's graduation at Pitt. The house is approximately 2 miles from the event center, close to campus, & several hospitals too. There is a Giant Eagle next door & several restaurants within walking distance. The house was exactly as described & shown in pictures. I wish our stay was during a warmer time of year so we could have enjoyed sitting outside on the deck. I would not hesitate to book this home again in the future.

Jake’s house was extremely close to the grocery store, Starbucks, a pizzeria, and more! We enjoyed using the driveway which was convenient for parking 3-4 cars. Check in was very easy and the house was nice and clean. The kitchen was stocked with all the cookware we needed, and there was even laundry detergent and cleaning supplies. Hopefully we will come back to stay in the warmer weather and get to make good use of the nice outdoor decks!

We enjoyed the space, nice bedrooms and bathrooms. The deck was a nice gathering space. Location was good for restaurants, shopping and a grocery store was right next door. But it still felt quiet and peaceful.

This is one of the best AirBnb locations I've ever stayed at. It's spacious, tastefully decorated, and has all advertised amenities. It's about a 5 minute walk to Walnut Street and about 25 minutes to Lawrenceville. The beds are very comfortable and we also enjoyed the sauna. I'd definitely stay here again!

Very clean and beautiful home, right next to the giant eagle on centre avenue. Ample parking space and very safe neighbourhood. The bedroom in the attic is more for kids, but, every other bedroom was perfect. We loved our stay and Jake was a super host and extremely responsive.

Jake was a fantastic host! He provided very clear instructions to access the home, and the driveway/parking, and answered my questions about willingness to accommodate our family’s 3 dogs (he said it was fine, multiple other listings I contacted had a hard “2 pet” limit). He was very quick to respond whenever a question came up, and the home was exactly as described and matched the pictures. My family stayed here for a funeral, and my wife and I, our dog, my brother and his family of 4, my other brother, and my parents and their two dogs all had more than enough room to be together when we wanted, or to get rest separately. The space inside is smartly used and the kitchen/dining room was great to be able to have a family breakfast and dinners together every day we were there. Highly recommend! Outstanding host, and fantastic home!

Hands down the absolute best airbnb I've ever booked. This place is GORGEOUS! Jake is so friendly and accommodating. If this place is booked, he has several more, which I encourage you to consider-yes, it was that good of an experience! It was also priced more than fairly for the countless amenities and the location. Parking is behind the house, there is an alley to access, and situated right next to a grocery store, both super convenient. Very walkable location. There two decks, one off the living room and the other off the 4th floor bedroom, great to chill with a glass of wine. My only issue is while there are 2 full bathrooms, both are en suite to two of the bedrooms, so the other two bedrooms have no bathroom because the main floor has a powder room only. We were all family, so it wasn't too big of a deal, but this could be inconvenient or even awkward for friends/ more than two couples. Also, not for anyone who can't do stairs. But for everyone else, it is the perfect rental!
